Disney World is constantly toying around with its restaurant menus, and we often see some of our favorite snacks return…or worse…get taken off menus entirely.
Now, we’ve witnessed this recently in Magic Kingdom: Columbia Harbour House stopped offering hush puppies for a while, but they eventually came back. We also lost our minds when Sleepy Hollow got rid of the original waffles for Mickey waffles, but those, too, sort of came back. Now, we’ve witnessed the disappearance of one of our favorite snacks in EPCOT…and y’all, we may not be okay.
The Peanut Butter Whoopie Pie at Sunshine Seasons (that we LOVED) has been replaced by a Mickey-shaped Pistachio Macaron. The macaron, which is $5.79, is one of those big macarons, so at least it’s a decent value. However, y’all, that Peanut Butter Whoopie Pie was EVERYTHING. Okay, we’re going to need a moment. 🥺
The Peanut Butter Whoopie Pie was a chocolate whoopie pie with peanut butter filling and shaved chocolate pieces, topped with whipped cream and powdered sugar. Plus, it was cheaper than the new macaron…the whoopee pie was only $4.29. Do you know how hard it is to find good snacks in Disney World UNDER $5?
We now feel like Disney has punked us. Granted, the macaron is quite nice — the outside of the macaron was light, sweet, and so fragile, just how it’s supposed to be, but it will still leave a bitter taste in our mouths because of what it replaced. We did ask a Cast Member and were told that this is the offering Sunshine Seasons will now have instead of the Peanut Butter Whoopie Pie, which could be gone…forever.
But here’s the thing: this snack has come and gone before, so surely it’s not gone forever? Please say it ain’t so, Disney. Anyway, please give us a moment to grieve during this difficult time, and stay tuned to DFB for more.

Why do all the great peanut butter desserts keep getting killed? The greatest was the peanut butter pie at Contempo Cafe which also vanished with the arrival of the 50th anniversary and never returned.
Nooooo!!! I’m heading to WDW in September and the peanut butter whoopie pie was on my Excel spreadsheet of snacks to try!!! It was even highlighted to indicate it was something I REALLY wanted to try!!! Disney keeps toying with us!! lol
There’s no way a pistachio ANYTHING can sub successfully for a chocolate ANYTHING. Fact.
When I saw the picture of the peanut butter whoopie pie I had my fingers crossed that it would be replaced by the chocolate whoopie pie. No such luck. I hate peanut butter and I don’t care for macarons either.
My wife wants the troll horn to come back to Norway pavillion!!!
Truthfully, so psyched about the macaron. My celiac daughter and I are going in October and gluten free baked goods are sparse!!
