It’s almost time to get spooky in Disney World!

Mickey at his very own 2024 Not-So-Scary Halloween Party
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party kicks off on August 15th, 2025, and we are ready! We’ve planned out all the snacks we’re grabbing, our parade watching spot, and costumes (because you can wear costumes to the party). One sign that the Halloween season is drawing near is decorations starting to materialize around Magic Kingdom, and today we finally got a hint of them!
This morning, as we were hitting up our daily monorail ride at the Transportation and Ticket Center, we noticed a small change with big implications! The first hint that Halloween is creeping in soon was hanging up!

The first sign of spooky season!
It featured Mickey and Minnie on a sign all about Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, along with some hay bales and buckets of fall leaves. We were really, really hoping that this was just a sign as to what we were going to spot once we entered Magic Kingdom! Sadly, we were disappointed. (We’re holding back tears if you can’t tell.)

Main Street, U.S.A.
While we were hoping for pumpkins, fall decor, and more, we just got the classic (but still gorgeous) Main Street. There was an additional sign for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary near the exit for the monorail just before you head into the park, with a few more tiny pumpkins, leaves, and hay bales.

A sign in front of Magic!
We know that Halloween decor should be popping up any day now in the Magic Kingdom because Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party starts in ONE WEEK! While we prefer it when Disney does the complete overnight flip for the holidays, over the past few years, they’ve added a few hints here and there before the total transformation. If they follow suit from last year, decor will go up roughly 4 days before the party starts (and last year they did it in a hurricane).

Halloween in Magic Kingdom from 2024
In 2023, the Halloween decorations went up on July 31st before the party started on August 11th. So, Disney, you’ve got a few more days before we expect full pumpkin mania, but be warned! We do expect it. We are chomping at the bit for this year’s after hours holiday parties to begin, and you can be sure we will be there opening night to cover every detail. As always, be sure to keep following DFB for more Disney news, updates, and tips!
