Disney World has just released the menu for a highly anticipated new lounge coming to Magic Kingdom, and we couldn’t help but notice something glaringly familiar!
I’ve been reporting on Disney World’s food for years and a visitor to its parks and restaurants even longer, and I’ve seen some downright bizarre food items. In between Disney World’s Halloween party exclusives and even throwing it back to Disney World’s 50th celebration, there are a few unique items I would have rather put out of sight and out of mind, but Disney just had to bring one of the weirdest back in a new life.

I’m disappointed to see Octopus on a menu at a Disney park. With the intelligence they continually display, it feels barbaric to have one of their limbs hanging out the top of a dish like that. I understand visually it’s striking and on theme, but it comes from a source I’m not comfortable with. I have a feeling it won’t be a popular dish and will probably be phased out within a year.
There is nothing on that Beak and Barrel menu that I would pick up, never mind eating it or drinking it. Why would you drink an alcoholic beverage in Disney World’s heat and humidity when you know alcohol contributes to dehydration! I don’t get it! And maybe it’s me. The heat and/or humidity makes you dehydrated. Alcohol makes you dehydrated, and if you don’t drink lots of water, you may end up with your legs feeling weak, maybe shaking and fainting. Then you end up in Urgent Care or a hospital, ruining everyone’s vacation. Why would anyone subject themselves to that? The older I get, the more I don’t understand people ….. or companies for that matter. I guess it is just me.
