Aarg! If you’ve been obsessed with the idea of the pirate-themed bar coming to Magic Kingdom since it was announced, like me, you’re going to love this update.

Pirates of the Caribbean runs in my blood after my dad was a Cast Member there at Disneyland, and I’ve been keeping track of this project for months now, ready to grab my parrot plush and head straight to Adventureland. If you’ve been worried about grabbing reservations, Disney might have just made it easier to visit the lounge when it first opens.

The Beak and Barrel is going to be open during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! The tavern opens on August 29th, and reservations open August 14th.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party runs on select nights from August 15th to October 31st, so don’t expect those first few parties to have availability at Beak and Barrel, but we’re expecting a chance to book reservations for later parties starting in September.

Now, is this the best way to spend your time during the after-hours parties? That depends! Both the Halloween and Christmas parties are only for a few hours after the parks close, and there is a lot to do during the event. If you’ve been to the parties before and are looking for an upgraded experience, this can be a great way to do it — especially if you’re dressing up as pirates for Halloween.

Because the parties can often feel hectic, this can be a great way to take a calmer approach to the night. Taking 45 minutes in the middle of the party to sit down, put your feet up, while still staying in theme for the night, can make your party the best one yet.

Beak and Barrel is family-friendly with snacks and drinks for all ages and alcoholic drinks for guests 21 and older. Reservations are 45 minutes long, and there is a maximum of two drinks per guest.
