We’ve all been there — starving in Disney Springs with no dining reservation in sight.
Maybe you just wrapped up your day at the parks and weren’t ready to head back to the hotel. Maybe you’re spending the day outside the parks and decided to swing by Disney Springs on a whim. You’re surrounded by incredible restaurants, but every place you want to eat at has a wait list a mile long… or so you think. Turns out, Disney quietly rolled out a new service that makes grabbing a last-minute table way easier — and way less stressful. Let’s talk about the new dining help that popped up in Disney Springs.
If you’re heading to Disney Springs without a dining reservation, you don’t have to rely on your My Disney Experience app or hope someone cancels a reservation at Homecomin’ five minutes before your arrival. If you enter the springs via the Orange parking garage, you’ll find Disney has set up a podium staffed by a Cast Member who’s got one job — helping you find a table today. No need to wander around aimlessly, checking menus and wait times on your phone. This Cast Member can tell you exactly which restaurants have same-day availability and help you grab a spot fast.
Specifically, we spotted this new service next to the Planet Hollywood lounge and Wetzel’s Pretzels — basically the spot where the chaos of Disney Springs starts to unfold. And the best part? It’s clearly marked with signage, so you’re not going to miss it. Just walk up, ask what’s open, and boom — you’re on your way to a proper sit-down meal without needing a time machine to go back and make a reservation two months ago.
This is especially helpful if you’re trying to score a seat at one of the Disney Springs heavy-hitters. Restaurants like Wine Bar George, Raglan Road, and Homecomin’ are no joke when it comes to popularity. They book up fast. But same-day cancellations happen all the time — and unless you’re obsessively checking the app every 15 seconds, you can easily miss those openings. Now, you’ve got a real-life human who can check all of that for you. Think of them as your dining concierge, minus the stress and push notifications.
Here’s how it works: stroll up to the podium and ask what’s available. That’s it. The Cast Member will let you know which restaurants currently have same-day reservations or walk-up availability. They may even help get you booked in on the spot. It’s a super simple way to take the guesswork out of dining in Disney Springs, especially during peak times when it feels like everything is full.
Let’s be real — Disney Springs is a massive food scene. And while quick service spots like Chicken Guy and The Polite Pig can be lifesavers in a pinch, sometimes you just want to sit down, order a cocktail, and enjoy a full meal without fighting for a table or eating standing up on the sidewalk. That’s what this new podium setup helps you do. Whether you’re looking to try something new or hoping your fave place has a surprise opening, it’s worth swinging by the podium before you default to another mobile order situation.
Plus, this little service can be a huge time-saver. Instead of trekking from one restaurant to the next asking about walk-ups (which, let’s face it, we’ve all done), you can get a full list of what’s available in one quick stop. Then, you’re free to explore, shop, or sip something from the Coca-Cola Rooftop Bar while you wait for your table.
Disney hasn’t made a big splash about this new feature — it’s one of those low-key additions that quietly showed up and instantly made things better. We’re hoping it sticks around (and maybe even expands to other areas), because this is exactly the kind of simple, helpful service that makes navigating Disney property just a little bit smoother.
So next time you find yourself in Disney Springs with no reservation, don’t panic. Head toward the Orange Garage, look for the podium near Planet Hollywood, and let the Cast Member there do the heavy lifting. You might just end up scoring a table at one of the best spots in Disney Springs without even trying.

Silly. Cuz I’ve gone to DS, seen homecoming was full, went up to their podium, asked, and never had a wait longer than 10 min. Then again, I’ve learned to avoid peak dining times….
Been there 2 times this wk, didnt see a cm waiting either day.
Love this!! We’re going in November, and plan to hit Disney Springs on our arrival day. We’ll look for the service for sure.
Thanks DFB!!
