If you’ve been to Magic Kingdom recently, you’re probably going to notice one common factor seemingly everywhere you look…construction walls!
With multiple attractions now closed to make way for new offerings like Villains Land and the Cars rides, there are several ongoing projects in this park. But there are also some closures and construction projects that you might not expect! That’s why we’ve gathered up complete maps of all the construction walls in Magic Kingdom right now to help you plan your vacation.
Starting out this list at the front of the park, we’ve got to mention what’s going on with the Main Street, U.S.A. train station! The train station has been getting a slow refurbishment for a while now, and different sections of it have been cut off at different times as touch ups are made. Currently, if you’re facing the castle, the left-side staircase is blocked by construction walls and is unavailable, but the rest of the upper platform is good to go.
Since this is a smaller project, this could change any day.
Heading closer to the castle, there are some construction walls up blocking the pathway outside the restrooms by Casey’s Corner. You can still get to these restrooms by walking through the courtyard; you just can’t use part of the covered awning area between the restaurant and the bathrooms.
In Adventureland, walls are still up inside part of Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar, the gift shop at the exit of Pirates of the Caribbean. This is in preparation for the new lounge going next door, The Beak and Barrel. The gift shop is still open with a variety of pirate-themed souvenirs during this time.
Quite a few construction changes have hit Frontierland recently, starting with Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, which closed at the beginning of 2025 to get a year-long refurbishment. It won’t reopen until 2026, but when it does, it’ll have a new track and other enhancements.
Also, in preparation for the construction of Villains Land, the Frontierland train station is currently closed and has walls up around the base. You can still ride the Walt Disney World Railroad between Main Street Station and Fantasyland Station.
The biggest construction stretch in the park right now is the walls that went up after the closure of Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat. These cover sections along the water in Frontierland and Liberty Square, but they don’t block the entire river yet.
In Storybook Circus, the Dumbo the Flying Elephant indoor playground is currently closed for a refurbishment. Instead of construction walls, here you’ll find the area blocked by a giant curtain…it’s more circus-y, after all!
Cool Ship is a snack stand in Tomorrowland that’s currently surrounded by construction walls as it gets some updates. The snack stand typically doesn’t offer many exciting or unique menu options, so here’s to hoping it gets something new when it returns!
Last but not least, we’ve got to mention the impending closure of Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin. This ride will close on August 4th and will reopen in 2026 with some major changes. It will be getting new ride vehicles, a new ride scene, handheld blasters, and a more intuitive scoring system. How exciting!
