When planning a trip to Disney World, one thing to always look out for is the peak and off-peak periods!

Cinderella Castle
We’re looking ahead to Halloweentime at Disney World, because there might be some times in October you’re going to want to avoid. Let’s take a look at those dates!
We’re anticipating October 20th through the 23rd to be dates to avoid! The Gartner IT Symposium Expo is coming to Disney World and will run at the Swan and Dolphin Resort, bringing in a lot of guests to the parks. It’s not even that the parks may be busy; it’s the fact that the expo usually buys out a whole park, or they have in past years. This causes the park that’s bought out to close early.

Disney World
With the expo taking place at the Swan and Dolphin Resort, that area of Disney World may be busy when it comes to transportation. So be aware that it might be busier traveling from the resort to the different parks.

The Dolphin
The Swan and Dolphin only use buses and boats for transportation. They don’t have any connection to the Skyliner or the Monorail, so it’ll be the buses and boats that may get crowded at the resort.

Swan and Dolphin
Speaking of closing early, Magic Kingdom isn’t going to have a ton of full days available to guests starting in mid-August and going on through the rest of the year. We’re entering the busiest time of the year at Disney World with Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party approaching. During those times, Magic Kingdom is set to close around 6 PM so the exclusive events can start.

Halloween in Magic Kingdom
With the Halloween Party and the expo happening at the same time, we’d probably say avoid October 20th through the 23rd. For more tips, tricks, and more, stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog.
