EPCOT is home to some of the most iconic rides in all of Disney World.
First, you’ve got Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, probably one of the most thrilling rides in the parks. Then there’s Living With The Land, and we’re sorry — that ride does NOT get the love it deserves. But a must-ride for so many people visiting EPCOT is in The Land pavilion. That’s right, it’s Soarin’ Over The World. But what if you wanted to ride in the BEST seat for that ride? Well, we’re going to tell you where we like to sit when we’re taking off on Soarin.’
Okay, for starters, our favorite row on Soarin’ is Row B1 — and we’ll tell you why. But other rows are also well-suited for riding that could fit what you want from the ride, so let’s talk about them all.
If you’re not familiar with Soarin’ Around the World, it’s a simulation ride that takes you above some of the most iconic locations all over the world. Once you’re seated in a ride vehicle, you are lifted up in front of a screen. The vehicle moves to simulate soaring through the air as you watch the scenery of the world around you. As you are watching the ride on a screen, and you’ll be riding with others in front of and behind you, some seats on this ride are better than others.
We do have to tell you that you are allowed to request specific seats or rows on a Disney World ride, but Cast Members may not always be able to give you the seats you want. If you do make a request, you should be understanding if a Cast Member can’t accommodate you. This ride is amazing, no matter where you sit, after all.
Okay, now we’re going to discuss the best places to sit while you’re riding Soarin.’ First, let’s talk about the seating arrangement. There are three sections (A, B, and C) with three rows each (1,2, and 3). It’s basically like a 3×3 grid.
Our favorite row is row B1 because it puts you in the center of the screen, and you won’t see other people’s feet dangling in front of you, so it’s an unobstructed view of the screen. It’s also where you’ll see less distortion on the screen (if you’ve seen the Leaning Eiffel Tower, you know what we’re talking about, although Disney has SORT of fixed that issue — but trust me, it still leans a little). However, this does put you sort of ABOVE the center of the screen.
If you want to experience the film with the least amount of distortion and don’t mind seeing feet dangling above your head, then row B2 is a good choice. Row B2 is the true center of the screen (the middle of the 3×3 seating grid), meaning that you’re seeing the film as straight on as you can, so things don’t look like they’re leaning as much. But you will see feet, but honestly, is that really a big deal?
If you don’t like heights or you just want to be as close to the ground as possible, choose Row B3. This row still puts you in the center of the screen, but it IS a little lower than the center, so you’ll experience some distortion, as well as feet in front of you. But you will be closer to the ground, and for some folks, that might make this the ideal choice.
Both sections A and C are on the side of the screen, so you’ll notice more distortion from those seats. However, row 1 in those sections will give you a view without dangling feet, while row 3 will keep you closer to the ground. B is always going to be our preference because it’s in the center, but wherever you sit, you’ll enjoy Soarin’ Over The World, which is FUN.
