Okay, so this is the season of closures in Disney World, thanks to all the planned construction around the parks with new lands, expansions, rides, and more on the way (so much new stuff is being planned, y’all).
Disney’s Port Orleans — Riverside
However, sometimes unplanned closures can throw a wrench in your day, and that’s something we’ve been informed about that’s happening at Disney’s Port Orleans Resorts. The bridge that connects Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter to Disney’s Port Orleans — Riverside is currently closed due to unplanned construction work.
We’ve been informed that construction work is happening on the bridge between the two resorts now due to what is reportedly an incident with a trash truck running into the top part of the bridge (Disney has not confirmed). Both the walkway and boats were closed for a day, but the boats and walkway are now operational again, while the bridge is closed. Thanks to DFB reader, @msgrunder, for the photos.

You’ll want to keep that in mind if you’ll be visiting either resort until the bridge is repaired and deemed safe by Disney World construction crews. In the meantime, you also need to be aware that rooms in the Magnolia Bend section of Port Orleans — Riverside are also currently under refurbishment.
