There’s a sneaky little perk buried in your Disney vacation package that most people totally miss.
If you’re in the process of booking a 2025 Walt Disney World Resort vacation package, you might already know about the basics—hotel, tickets, park days, all that good stuff. But what you might not know is that Disney tosses in something called “Magical Extras.” And buried in those extras? Legit restaurant discounts you’ll actually want to use—at two of our FAVORITE spots in all of Disney World. Let’s break it down so you don’t miss this easy win.
Wait… What’s a Magical Extra?
When you book a Walt Disney World vacation package through the Walt Disney Travel Company, they bundle in some bonus perks. They call them “Magical Extras.” Sounds like a throwaway, but here’s the thing—they’re not. They include actual discounts at restaurants, shops, and even entertainment. We’re talking real savings on real food at places we’d actually recommend.
Now, not every Magical Extra is earth-shattering. But some of them are absolutely worth paying attention to—especially if you’re looking to splurge without the guilt. Here are two of the biggest winners:
The BOATHOUSE at Disney Springs
Yes. This one. The BOATHOUSE is one of those places we keep coming back to, and not just for the food. It’s a total vibe—waterfront dining, dream boats bobbing in the dock, even those vintage amphicars floating by while you sip your cocktail. It’s upscale without being stuffy, and the menu is solid across the board. Fresh seafood, killer steak, truffle fries—just trust us on this one.
Now here’s where the Magical Extra comes in: you can score 10% off your food at The BOATHOUSE when you show your Magical Extras Savings Card (you’ll get this with your vacation package materials). This is not one of those “off-menu, only-if-you-order-a-steak-at-2PM-on-a-Wednesday” deals. It’s 10% off food, full stop. Just be at Disney Springs, show the card, and boom—discount.
A couple things to note:
- It’s food only (drinks not included).
- You do need to book a vacation package to qualify, so keep that in mind if you’re just buying tickets à la carte.
If you were planning to go to The BOATHOUSE anyway—and we think you should—this is basically free money.
The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant at Disney’s BoardWalk
If you haven’t heard of The Cake Bake Shop yet, that’s okay. It’s one of the newer additions to Disney’s dining lineup, but we’re already big fans.
Imagine a French bakery met a storybook tea party and decided to throw a Pinterest-worthy lunch. That’s the vibe here—think shimmering chandeliers, pastel everything, and one of the most photogenic dessert cases on property.
But don’t be fooled by the dainty décor—this place doesn’t play when it comes to flavor. The lunch menu has hearty options like quiches, sandwiches, and salads (and yes, cake… lots of cake). Plus, it’s one of the few places where you can book afternoon tea in an actual sit-down setting. It’s fancy, but still approachable.
Here’s the deal: You get 10% off your lunch OR one bakery item between noon and 4 PM with your Magical Extras card.
Couple caveats to remember:
- Discount doesn’t apply to alcohol, merch, or private events.
- You can’t double dip (it’s either lunch or one bakery item).
- Timing matters—this discount is only good from 12PM to 4PM.
So if you were already planning a BoardWalk day or looking for a chill lunch outside the parks, this is an easy win.
So, Is It Worth It?
Look, these aren’t jaw-dropping, 50%-off-your-entire-meal deals. But they’re still smart ways to shave a little off your Disney dining bill—especially at restaurants that are actually good. If you’re booking a vacation package anyway, there’s no reason not to use these. Ten percent might not sound like a ton, but it adds up—especially at places where a single entrée can run $40+. And at Disney prices? Every little bit counts.
