I’ve visited Disney World many times, and even I struggle making a decision on what and where to eat!

El Mercado de Coronado at Coronado Springs!
Here at the Disney Food Blog, we like to try all the eats and treats we can find to help make that decision easier for you! We recently tried three brand-new items over at Coronado Springs, and we’re letting you know if they’re worth a grab.
We stopped by El Mercado de Coronado over at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort because we couldn’t resist trying their new menu items. Disney World hotels aren’t talked about enough when it comes to dining. Let’s find out if this is a spot you need to visit!

Seating area!
First, we grabbed the Au Jus Melt for $19. On the online menu, it’s listed as a French-dipped sandwich at $18, but in person it’s listed as the Au Jus Melt at $19. Just something to be aware of if you look it up. If you enjoy roast beef sandwiches, you will like this one! It comes with a good amount of meat, which we loved.

Au Jus Melt!
The bread is wonderfully toasted, with an amazing crunch on the outside and soft on the inside. The sandwich was just a smidge too chewy. Overall, it was a savory, cheesy, good portion-sized dish. The dip added a saltiness to its overall taste. Our only problem with the sandwich is its price, especially since it doesn’t come with a side. Good sandwich, very expensive!

It was way too pricey!
Next, we grabbed the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich for $16. This was a crispy fried chicken breast topped with shredded iceberg lettuce, house-made hot honey sauce, zesty dill aioli, and crunchy pickles — all stacked on a toasted Kaiser roll. There is a decent amount of bun with this thing, and it was very tasty. It was fluffy and tasted like white bread.

Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich!
We found there was a lot of lettuce and pickles on this sandwich — and the pickles gave it an amazing crunch! We found the chicken was pounded pretty thin, and the breading was falling off the chicken a little bit. It made eating it pretty messy since all the sauce was on the breading. Some parts were pounded so thin that it felt like we were eating just the breading. If we could change anything, we would want the chicken to be a thicker cut!

We wish the chicken were thicker.
When it came to the sauces, we weren’t huge fans of the aioli, and the hot sauce was HOT! If you can’t handle spicy food, do not get this. The heat lingers on your lips and tongue, and it was a lot to handle.

This was HOT
Lastly, we had the Italian Hoagie for $14. This was on focaccia bread, and we found this one was denser than what we’ve had before — it’s not quite as fluffy. It came from the fridge, so it wasn’t made super fresh. The meats were great, but very thinly sliced.

There’s a good amount of sauce, and the pesto blends well with the flavors. It also had a little bit of saltiness to it. The sandwich gets less dry when you get to the middle of it. For fridge food, it wasn’t bad — although, there are other things we’d probably go for before this!

We wish it were fresher.
Overall, we liked everything we tried, but probably wouldn’t go out of our way for it. It’s a good, convenient grab for those looking for something quick and easy, and are by Coronado Springs.

Here’s what we got!
