I’ve done quite a bit of shopping in EPCOT, but there are some things I’ll NEVER buy again.
When you’ve got limited souvenir money for your vacation, you have to budget wisely, and I’d rather spend my hard-earned cash on things that will last, are memorable, or that I can’t get anywhere else. So when I’m shopping in EPCOT, I’m ruling out some of the options!
Candy I Can Get at the Grocery Store
Starting off this list, we’ve GOT to talk about the candy! There are probably hundreds of different candies you can buy around EPCOT, especially in the World Showcase. And many of them aren’t quite as special as you think!
Just because it’s available in the UK Pavilion or the Japan Pavilion doesn’t mean that it’s exclusive to those stores or countries. We’ve often seen candy on display at EPCOT that we can purchase in the “international” sections of our local grocery stores. And unless you’re just trying to snack your way through prepackaged candy around the world, then you might want to save the snacks for something fresh or more unique!
Snack Cart Breakfast Sandwiches
At a few of the snack carts near the front of EPCOT, you can find a breakfast sandwich in the mornings. It’s your simple bacon-egg-and-cheese variety, except it’s served on what seems to be a hamburger bun. And honestly? It did NOT impress us.
When it comes to breakfast, there are many better options at Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie, Kringla Bakeri og Kafe, or even inside Connections Cafe, the park’s Starbucks location. Don’t shortchange yourself on breakfast!
Freeze-Dried Space Food
At Mission Space Cargo Bay, the gift shop at the exit of Mission: SPACE, you’ll find a variety of NASA and space-themed souvenirs. Among those are packs of freeze-dried astronaut food.
They seem pretty cool, but you can order snacks just like these on Amazon or find them at places like the Kennedy Space Center. They’re not exactly a Disney World-exclusive treat. And like we mentioned with the international candy, we want to save our souvenir money for the snacks that are extra special!
Obnoxiously Large World Showcase Souvenirs
Last but not least, we’re giving a warning for ALL the World Showcase shops when we say not to get sucked into any specialty souvenirs that are obnoxiously large. From oversized hats to giant umbrellas to full-on outfits, these kinds of oversized items can be a drag to carry around the park all day.
Keep in mind that whatever you purchase has to be carried with you throughout the day, and THEN it has to fit in your suitcase on the way home. Make logical choices!
When you’re shopping in EPCOT, you’ve gotta pace yourself — there are WAY more stores than you think! Be smart about your shopping, and when in doubt, spend that money on some delicious eats and drinks instead. 😉

Good tips but…..doesn’t wdw do package delivery to the resorts anymore? Or at least hold your purchases for pickup when you leave like Busch Gardens and Seaworld both do?
Hi Norma. Package delivery to your resort for purchases made in the parks has not returned to Walt Disney World since Covid.
