EPCOT may be the only theme park in Disney World that isn’t currently getting a new land or expansion, although, granted the park got a HUGE transformation several years ago.
However, that doesn’t mean you don’t have something new to look forward to in EPCOT. On the contrary…the new version of Test Track is set to open on July 22nd. Now, the ride has been open for early previews for SELECT Disney World visitors, but today, Test Track has soft opened for EVERYONE.
Yep, you read that right. If you’re visiting EPCOT today, you can grab a spot in the standby line to ride the new version of Test Track AHEAD of its official opening.
We spoke with a Cast Member who confirmed that it wasn’t OFFICIALLY open, but that it was open. At the time, the ride wait time was at around 40 minutes.
Now, we had a chance to ride Test Track a little earlier just to see how much it’s changed, and the answer is “A LOT.” The ride got a new entrance sign, the queue has new exhibits (and the interactive “design your car” part of the queue is gone), and the ride has new sounds and scents.
But don’t worry, you still get to do that fast 65 mph loop around the outdoor track just like before, except now there’s a display showing you just how fast you’re going.
So if you find yourself heading to EPCOT today (or if you’re already there), be sure to grab a spot in line at Test Track to try it out before it opens.
Stay tuned to DFB for more.
