There might be nothing worse than finishing watching a season of a TV show, looking up when the next season premieres, and finding out it’s canceled.
Paramount+ has removed a lot of shows from its platform, including a wildly popular one. Don’t worry — you might be able to watch it somewhere else.
According to Deadline, South Park is no longer available on Paramount+.
All 26 seasons of the show have been removed from Paramount+, although some specials remain. The seasons are still available to stream on HBO Max with no removal notice.
Season 27 was originally set to premier on Comedy Central on July 9th but has since been pushed back to the 23rd. In a recent merge, Comedy Central was purchased by Paramount so there’s confusion of why it’s been removed.
Paramount is quick to remove shows from its streaming services, including its own originals. Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies which was made for Paramount+ in 2023 was removed from streaming. The creator, Annabel Oakes said she was “devastated at the complete erasure of our show,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The creators of South Park, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, signed a deal with Comedy Central in 2021 to run South Park through season 30, which is set to conclude in 2027. The deal was reportedly valued at approximately $900 million.
At the end of 2024, Paramount removed many Nickelodeon shows from its streaming platform, including Doug, Blue’s Room, and Big Time Rush.
It feels like more titles are being removed from Paramount than being added. Make sure to keep following Disney Food Blog for more TV and movie news.
