Something NEW has just made its debut in Magic Kingdom — and we’re so excited to share it with you.
We just got to see Magic Kingdom’s NEW nighttime parade, Disney Starlight: Dream The Night Away, which lit up the night sky on its way from Main Street, U.S.A. to Frontierland (and yes, the parade was LIT, and yes, pun intended). However, what makes this parade even more special is that it has introduced a brand new character to the parks, a train named Whimsy. Yes, a train…and we KNOW Walt would appreciate that.
We got a chance to watch Disney Starlight, which includes a lot of beautiful floats featuring some of our favorite Disney characters like the Blue Fairy, Peter Pan, Wendy, Mirabel, Isabella, Bruno, Moana, Elsa, Aurora and Philip, Tiana and Naveen, Cinderella and Prince Charming, and Belle and the Beast, Miguel, Dante, Asha, Star, and Valentino.
The finale of the parade, though, features Whimsy leading a train-themed float with Goofy, Pluto, Donald, Daisy, Dopey, Snow White, Rapunzel, Flynn Rider, Aladdin, Jasmine, Mickey, and Minnie.
We’re OBSESSED with Whimsy. We need him on plushies, shirts, popcorn buckets, ears…
The details on him are incredible. He has lots of curved lines to make him look like he jumped out of the night sky. He can dance, and he was inspired by vintage Disney animation — specifically, Silly Symphonies!
He is made from starlight, so obviously, he’s perfect for the parade. During the parade, he spits out steam and makes different faces. He’ll turn the whole train blue and then BAM! He’ll be in full color! Petition to turn the Walt Disney World Railroad to Whimsy?
If you want to catch Disney Starlight, you’ll have two chances every evening: at 9 PM and 11 PM. You’ll also want to know that the parade will actually run in reverse to Magic Kingdom’s daytime parade: Disney Starlight starts on Main Street, U.S.A., and ends in Frontierland. You can even catch Happily Ever After, the Magic Kingdom fireworks show at 10 PM for a full night of spectaculars.
Stay tuned to DFB for more.
