Epic Universe just opened in May, but Universal is already submitting plans to expand!
This is the third park at Universal Orlando and has five themed lands: Super Nintendo World, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and the Ministry of Magic, How to Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk, Dark Universe, and Celestial Park. We’ve been exploring every detail and trying every snack, but the idea of an expansion has us thrilled!
Universal has filed permits with Orange County for an expansion, according to Fox35. The permit states that it will be a shop, warehouse, or restaurant.
The permit covers “vertical construction” and will be between the entrance of the park and Super Nintendo World.
It will be about 40,000 square feet, and while we don’t have any announced timelines, we are obsessed with our newest Florida theme park getting just a little bit bigger. 40,000 is a decent amount of space, and no matter what it turns into, we’re ready for more details.
Universal is also working on Universal Kids Resort, a new theme park coming to Frisco, Texas, for the little ones of the family. It’s set to open sometime in 2026, featuring the Minions and Shrek, as well as other kid favorites.
The whole park will be smaller than Universal Hollywood and Universal Orlando, but we can’t wait to visit and check it out for ourselves. Between this and Epic Universe, our theme park heats are so full.
