Happy Holidays…okay, just kidding…well kinda. Disney just dropped a ton of new details about the holiday season in Disney World, so we’ve already got “snope” on the brain (that’s snow + snoap for all you non-Floridians who get to see REAL snow).
We just learned more about what to expect at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Magic Kingdom this year. Now, something is going to be a little different about this year’s party, so we’re going to break down the one rule you’ll need to follow if you plan on getting a ticket to this event.
So the big thing that’s changing with this year’s Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is this: Disney Starlight. Now, the new nighttime parade will run during the holiday season, but NOT on nights there’s a Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Instead, the party will host the Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, which is also a nighttime parade. But there’s a BIG difference that could confuse you about these two parades.
Disney Starlight will be changing its parade route. Disney Starlight’s route will start on Main Street, U.S.A., and work backwards (at least backwards to what we’re used to) to Frontierland. However, Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade will run along the traditional route, starting in Frontierland and working towards Main Street, U.S.A. With both being nighttime parades, we can see where that might cause some confusion.
You’ll want to remember these differences so you can make sure you know where to go, especially if you’re late in finding a spot for the Christmas Party parade after it’s already started and want to watch it from the beginning. As the parade progresses, if you’re still looking for a viewing spot, make sure you move towards Main Street, U.S.A., and not Frontierland, where the parade has already passed. Of course, if you’re visiting Magic Kingdom on a non-party night, you’ll do the opposite for Disney Starlight. Yep, confusing!
Tickets are on sale for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Parade, so you’ll want to grab those while they’re still available if that’s in your Disney World holiday plans. And as always, stay tuned to DFB for more.
