We’re still mourning the closure of PizzeRizzo, but what if we told you that you could still enjoy some of their menu items at a new location? Yep, it surprises us too!
If you head to Catalina Eddie’s, also in Hollywood Studios, you’ll find favorite PizzeRizzo items to order! Let’s try a few items to see what it’s like on Sunset Boulevard without sitting in the Wedding Room at PizzeRizzo.
First, we tried the Alfredo Basil Chicken Pasta for $13.29, which is served with a slice of Garlic Bread.
As soon as we took a bite, we were surprised by how much we enjoyed it! The sauce was creamy and cheesy, coating the pasta nicely. It wasn’t drowning in sauce, but there was plenty hidden in the twists of the noodles. There were even crispy breadcrumbs on top, which gave it a nice crunch.
The chicken was on the drier side, but we loved the bubble cheese and marinara sauce on top. The breading on the chicken wasn’t as crispy as we prefer, but we appreciated how it made the whole dish more filling with the pasta. It was a great-sized plate and can definitely be a whole meal or an easy lunch if you’re sharing.
The garlic bread was the real star! It was crispy on the edges and fluffy in the middle. It reminded us of Texas toast and wasn’t overly greasy on our fingers. Who doesn’t love garlic bread with pasta?
Then we had the Chicken Parmesan with Marinara Pasta, also served with Garlic Bread, for $13.19.
This plate of pasta had the same chicken as the Aldredo Basil Chicken, and while the piece was a little bigger, we thought it tasted the same. Although the pasta was cooked well, we were not in love with the tomato sauce. There were chunks of tomatoes in it, which gave it a great bite, but it reminded us of cafeteria tomato sauce, which is not our ideal pasta experience.
We appreciated the large chicken piece on top, and again, that bubbly cheese is hard to dislike. It’s the same tomato sauce on the chicken as on the pasta, and while it wasn’t the most original dish we’ve seen, if someone in your family needs an easy meal that they know they’ll enjoy, the Chicken Parmesan might just be that.
For dessert, we opted for the Cannoli, priced at $5.29.
As pretty as it is, this cannoli won’t change your life. It might look crispy, but it was sitting in a fridge waiting for us and did not provide that classic, crunchy shell. We did enjoy the flavor of the filling, which is very traditional. The powdered sugar on top was fun, paired with the milk chocolate shards on the side.
It’s hard to recommend this because it wasn’t the texture a cannoli should be. If you’re here for the filling, this might be for you, but if you love that perfect texture, we would head somewhere else.
We’re going to be dreaming about garlic bread every time we walk through Sunset Boulevard, but in the meantime, make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for all the best Disney news you need for your next vacation.
