A new change is coming to “it’s a small world,” and now the attraction will feel even more special with every ride!
It was announced that Disneyland is changing the last verse in the finale scene of “it’s a small world,” but we just found out that the change is coming to Disney World, as well! This change will start on July 17th in both parks.

Before Richard Sherman, one of the two Sherman brothers who wrote most of Disneyland’s original music, passed earlier this year, he wrote a new verse “as his final gift to Disney.”
We love this ride!
The new lyrics will be:
Mother Earth unites us in heart and mind / And the love we give makes us humankind / Through our vast, wondrous land / When we stand hand in hand / it’s a small world after all

A special edition vinyl will be available online at the Disney Music Emporium. You can preorder the record now for its release on July 18th. A digital version of the song will also be available on all music streaming platforms.

The change coming during the 70th anniversary of Disneyland makes it feel even more special, and it feels like a full-circle moment to the park’s beginning.

Not me bawling reading the new lyrics. IASW is my favorite ride still existing in WDW and this just makes it better. The thing that everyone hates about it, that it’s corny and cheesy and the song gets stuck in your head forever is exactly why I love it. We need this reminder of hope and love in the world. An essential part of Disney Magic!!
