Big changes are creeping into Magic Kingdom this Halloween.

Halloween in Magic Kingdom
If you’re heading to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in 2025, there are a few surprises you’ll want to know about before you start planning costumes and park strategies. From meet-and-greets to construction zones, Disney is shaking things up this year. Let’s break down four big changes we’re expecting—and how they might impact your night of spooky fun.
Mickey and Minnie Are Tag-Teaming Their Meet and Greet
Usually, Mickey Mouse holds down the fort solo at Town Square Theater, but this year, he’s bringing along a special guest — Minnie! For the first time during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, guests will be able to meet both Mickey and Minnie together in their Halloween best at Town Square Theater.
This is a big deal. Dual-character meet and greets at Magic Kingdom are rare, especially with characters as iconic as these two. We’re expecting the lines to be long, but the photo ops will be worth it. If you want a picture with both Mouse stars in their Halloween finest, make this one of your first stops.
And yes, they’re expected to debut new costumes just for the party, so don’t be shocked if their outfits are some of the most snapped photos of the night.
Storybook Circus Turns Into a Kid-Friendly Haunt
If you’re heading to the party with little ones, you’ll want to swing by Storybook Circus. This area is getting a full makeover for the 2025 party and will be transformed into a whimsical, family-friendly haunt. Think bright colors, silly ghosts, low-key music, and age-appropriate decorations.
This transformation is clearly Disney’s way of creating a more intentional space for younger guests who might be overwhelmed by the darker elements in other parts of the park. It’s also a smart move to spread out the crowds a bit. We’re not expecting major ride overlays here, but you can bet there will be themed activities and maybe even some exclusive snacks. It’s a nice touch that keeps the “not-so-scary” vibe strong and gives families with younger kids a spot to hang out, especially early in the evening.
A ZOMBIES 4-Inspired Dance Party Is Coming
Disney is leaning hard into its Disney Channel fanbase this year with a brand new dance party inspired by ZOMBIES 4: Dawn of the Vampires. Whether you’ve seen the ZOMBIES franchise or not, this one’s probably going to be loud, high-energy, and full of strobe lighting, vampire vibes, and undead dance moves.
We’re expecting it to be located somewhere in Tomorrowland, where past dance parties have taken place. These events are always fun to drop into for a few minutes (especially if you’re looking to escape a snack coma or just want a breather between parades). But if you have teens or tweens in your group who are into the ZOMBIES series, you’ll probably want to block off some time for this.
Costumed dancers, character appearances, and a ZOMBIES-heavy playlist are pretty much guaranteed. And let’s be real—it’s a party. Disney style.
Frontierland’s Gonna Look… Rough
Starting July 7, 2025, Disney is launching a major overhaul of the Frontierland area to make room for the new Piston Peak expansion — a Cars-themed land that’s replacing Tom Sawyer Island, the Liberty Square Riverboat, and the Rivers of America.
Translation: Frontierland is going to be covered in construction walls during the Halloween party season.
This part of the park usually has strong Halloween vibes, especially with the Cadaver Dans singing their ghostly tunes and that stretch of trail near Country Bear Jamboree being a perfect trick-or-treat loop. But with all this work happening, don’t be surprised if pathways are rerouted, views are blocked, and things feel a little…chaotic.
Now, we don’t know exactly how much of Frontierland will be accessible during the party, but it’s safe to assume this area will be less picturesque than usual. Keep that in mind when planning your party photos or trying to time your route for the Boo-To-You Parade.
