REVIEW: Wailana Pool Bar at Disney’s Aulani Resort

We’ve been spending some time at Disney’s Aulani Resort, checking out all the sights, sounds, and of course — EATS!

Wailana Pool Bar

Aulani is unique — not just because it’s in Hawai’i, but because it’s home to an adults-only pool bar. Wailana Pool Bar is a quiet respite from the rest of the resort, which is fitting since wailana means calm or quiet. Come with us to check it out and grab one of the most iconic drinks on the menu!

At Wailana, you’ll find plenty of tropical and fruity drinks, local Hawaiian cuisine, and classic poolside snacks like pizza, wraps, burgers, and salad. This spot serves drinks from 10 AM to 9 PM — but food service runs from 11 AM to 5 PM. We stopped by to grab one of the most popular drinks on the menu — the Lava Flow!

This frozen concoction is made with Don Q Rum, Cream of Coconut, Strawberry Purée, and Pineapple Juice. You can get it for $16. If you’ve ever had a Piña CoLAVA at Disney World — this is essentially the same thing. It’s kind of a take on a piña colada mixed with a strawberry daiquiri — and it’s PERFECT for lounging by the pool. This one was well-balanced but did have a fair amount of rum in it, which we’re certainly not complaining about.

We loved the addition of the floral garnish and pineapple slice — it really made this drink feel a bit more tropical and elevated. When we spoke with Cast Members, they told us this was one of the most popular drinks at the pool bar, which makes total sense to us! Consider grabbing one for yourself if you ever make your way to Aulani!
