We recently posted about some updates to Disney World’s dining reservation system; however, it appears that some of these updates have now been rolled back!
We initially spotted some changes in early June, and just yesterday we noticed the changes had been rolled out to everyone and even more new changes made their debut. However, some of the changes are no longer available!
UPDATE: As of June 25th, the updates have been restored to the Disney World website and the My Disney Experience app. These changes seem to be rolling out slowly, so keep an eye out for them the next time you’re booking Advanced Dining Reservations at Disney World!
You can no longer select up to ten dates at once when you are checking dining availability. Currently, you can only choose one date initially to search for dining. However, you still can view up to 10 days of availability if you are looking at a specific restaurant.
As well, the time slider has disappeared and the time slots have returned, for All Day, Morning, Afternoon, and Evening. With the changes that rolled out recently, there was a slider that you could use to specify specific times instead of having to choose one of the time slots.
We also noticed that the green dots that showed availability on a specific restaurant’s calendar are also not there anymore. You can still select days to search for availability at a restaurant, but the calendar view won’t allow you to easily see which days have availability.
It is possible that the updates are just being rolled back to work out technical difficulties or other issues, or it is possible they will be gone for good. While we are hoping to see these changes return to the dining reservation system again, only time will tell! We will continue to keep an eye on the reservation system, and let you know of any other changes.
