Planning a trip to Disney World means you’ve got a TON of options when it comes to dining. Want something quick and easy? You’ve got it. Something middle of the road and comforting? Yep, that too. And if you’re looking for something upscale and luxurious, you can find that as well.
We recently stopped by Columbia Harbour House at Magic Kingdom to try a NEW plant-based dish, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here!
We stopped by Columbia Harbour House at Magic Kingdom to try the new Hearts of Palm and Artichoke Roll for $12.49. This comes dressed and is served chilled with lettuce and tomato on a toasted roll. It sort of reminds us of the Plant-Based Toasted “Lobster” Roll from Rosie’s All-American Cafe at Hollywood Studios, so we’re excited to try it.
Upon first bite, we could taste the difference between the two. The artichokes really elevate the flavor of the Hearts of Palm and Artichoke Roll and help set it apart from the sandwich at Rosie’s. This one is a dollar more, and it feels like that money went toward better ingredients. The roll at Rosie’s is hit or miss. This one is perfectly toasted on the outside with a little crust, but then immediately turns soft and doughy. It has a buttered consistency on the outside — some might even call it greasy — and it tastes buttery too.
The filling is creamy and has a dill-forward flavor. The hearts of palm are softer than what we’ve had at Rosie’s, and this one also comes with lettuce and tomato, which we really like for the added freshness and texture. We like that you get to choose your side at Columbia Harbour House — fries, rice, or green beans.
While the artichoke is a definite upgrade, we still prefer the dressing seasoned with Old Bay at Rosie’s, and even though our reporter prefers the texture of this one overall, they still liked the one at Rosie’s better based on flavor. With that being said, we are sad about losing the Crispy Mushroom Roll that this new sandwich replaced at Columbia Harbour House.
We’re always on the hunt for the newest eats around Disney World to review for you. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney news and more.

I vote they bring back the hummus sandwich they had years ago – my whole family loved it and only one is vegetarian!
I miss the lighthouse sandwich! I tried to recreate it at home but it just wasn’t the same!
