David Hekili Kenui Bell, who recently acted in Disney’s hit live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch, has sadly passed away at the age of 46.

According to PEOPLE, Hawaii police made an exclusive statement that Bell died on June 12th and claimed that “no foul play is suspected”. They also wrote he “was and will remain a bright and shining star”.
If you’ve seen the live-action Lilo & Stitch, you’ll know David Hekili Kenui Bell as the Big Hawaiian Dude (as listed on IMDb). You know the guy who, every time he sees something crazy, ends up dropping his ice cream treat — he’s that guy! Although small, his presence in the film provided good laughs for the theatre.

David’s sister, Jalene Kanani Bell, also shared the news on her Facebook account on Sunday, June 15th. The lovable actor’s family also confirmed to TMZ. Bell’s agent also made a statement saying, “He was one of my best talent & embodied the true meaning of aloha…a gentle giant.”.

Lilo & Stitch made its way to theatres on May 23rd, and David celebrated his huge achievement on the big screen in the best way he could — with his family. His sister exclaimed, “He planned ahead and purchased the best seats in the house for us all to go together to opening night in Kapolei just two short weeks ago”.
