Yo-ho, yo-ho, a pirate’s life for me! That’s what we’re going to be singing when the new pirate-themed lounge opens in Adventureland in Magic Kingdom.

It’s called The Beak and Barrel and will be a fun spot to grab a drink for guests of all ages while feeling like you entered the world of Pirates of the Caribbean. We’re not quite sure when it’s opening, but to fill in the time while we’re waiting for more details, we’ve been overanalyzing the concept art. We’ve discovered some hidden details that are making us even more excited!

One of the first things we noticed was beer on tap! Finding beer on tap throughout Disney World is not an easy feat, especially in Magic Kingdom. Beer lovers are going to be thrilled to have this option during their park day.

Speaking of drinks, does that look like a souvenir cup to you? It does to us! It appears that some drinks will be available in a specialty cup that you can likely take home for an additional cost. This one looks like a skull!

Disney told us that there will be interactive elements around the room, but whether these are on a timer or when people order specific drinks like in Trader Sam’s, we aren’t sure. It looks like these five miniature bottles will “come alive and engage in a fearsome battle.”

We can also see a cannon on top of a door frame. Do you think this will light up and make fog during your visit?

In one concept art piece, it looks like a Cast Member is standing on the bar doing a show. We’re not sure if this is a bartender who is very enthusiastic or a specific entertainment Cast Member, but it definitely looks like Cast Members of the tavern will help bring the story to life.

For guests, there seem to be a few interactive elements throughout the tavern. One bucket is full of swords, and we can see a telescope. These might be bolted down and may not be fully operational, but we’re crossing our fingers that we can play around a little.

OMG. Look at that! That looks like the foot that hangs down in the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction.

If you don’t stare at it as you pass under it, what are you doing?

It also looks like guests will be entering through the jail. We can see jail bars, handcuffs, and chains, as well as markings on the wall.

We’re thinking this will be based on the three pirates in jail on the ride!

In the Captain’s Quarters, the walls are covered in artwork that has been slashed and burned by pirates throughout the years. If we look closer, one picture shows a boat being taken down by what is most likely a Kraken.

On the other wall, that mermaid has a very familiar color scheme! In another portrait, the Captain is steering the boat, and we can’t 100% identify who it is, but it does resemble Captain Barbossa.

Disney has not announced any opening dates or timelines beyond late 2025, but we’ve been waiting and waiting for more details. We’re going to bring all the details here to you at Disney Food Blog, so make sure you’re following to stay up to date.
