An upcoming hotel announcement could COMPLETELY change the way we visit Disney World!
When it comes to Disney World hotels, Disney World experts have their favorite or a few favorites that are their go-to each visit. Even we have our preferences! However, a new resort will be gracing the Disney World property in a few years and it’s sure to shake up the hotel game!
Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is the newest hotel set to open on Bay Lake right by Magic Kingdom sometime in 2027.
This Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resort will be located at the former River Country water park near Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and is “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.”
Still in construction, Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge was once called Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge to Disney Lakeshore Lodge and has been in development for several years now. Recently, we’ve seen plenty of construction being done, at least confirming that the new resort IS, in fact, coming to Disney World.
While we’re still learning a lot about this new resort, Disney has mentioned that it will feature a new restaurant themed around The Princess and the Frog, no doubt making it a hotspot for DVC members and non-DVC members alike. The hotel has also teased rooms featuring theming of some classic woodland Disney characters, although we’ll learn more about that as we get closer to the project’s completion.
With this new hotel situated between Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness, it might be interesting to see how many fans of those resorts change their hotel plans to stay at this new hotel instead!
We’ve been following progress on this new resort since it was announced and will continue to monitor it as well as all the other Disney World hotels, so stay tuned right here at the Disney Food Blog for all the latest hotel updates!

I’d stay there but its going to be pricey so I likely can’t afford it
We love Princess and the Frog. We love Fort Wilderness cabins and we’re eager to have new dining options nearby. BUT. Why a PATF themed restaurant here? Just because it can do with the Wilderness theme? Why not have a PATF themed restaruant at, oh I don’t know – Port Orleans? There are so many other themes that could go here that wouldn’t fit in somewhere else. I hope that the rooms really are themed. Disney’s idea of theming in the hotels is seriously lacking lately.
Why are so many hotels earmarked for DVC?
Regular guests can never obtain a reservation or am I wrong?
wow!! But ??? Disney holds and owns how many patents? 6,852 at last count. So I want to ask? Why so log to build a resort? With the advantageous drive to expand, Disney imagineers would have created a speed way to build resorts based on cruise shipconsructio whereby modular off-site construction is used on an assembly style system, with on-site installation and securing to main structure. If you ask me I am kinda saddened it comes down to years to complete anything in Orlando.
