With new routes being added to airline companies and more folks opting to fly for their domestic and international travels, airline companies are looking for ways to continue to enhance their passengers’ experience. One particular airline company is looking to make changes to its international offerings and might have you seriously considering taking an international trip sooner.
United Airlines has just unveiled the United Elevated interior for its new Boeing 787-9 airplanes. The updated features you’ll find inside these planes aim to raise “the standard of international premium travel among U.S. carriers.” Its newest additions include new business class suites, the greatest number of total premium seats in United’s fleet, an Ossetra caviar amuse-bouche service, Starlink connectivity, and even larger 4K OLED seatback screens.

Each of these new suites, called the United Polaris Studio suites, is positioned in the first row of each business class section. All eight seats will lie flat and include all-aisle-access seats, which are 25% larger than existing United Polaris seats with privacy doors, an extra ottoman seat for companions, exclusive entrée options, new amenity kits with luxury skincare offerings, wireless charging, Bluetooth connectivity, and more.

These new upgrades to the suites aren’t the only addition to the airline. Additionally, standard United Polaris seats will also be upgraded to suites with the addition of sliding doors and larger, 19-inch 4K OLED screens. Further, each passenger flying United Polaris business class will have access to the airline’s six award-winning United Polaris lounges.

These upgrades are a small part of a complete transformation of United’s models of luxury airline. All in all, additional upgrades in the nose-to-tail makeover include refined finishes and a warmer feel throughout, offering something for everyone.

Is your passport ready?
United expects the first passengers to experience the upgraded luxuries of United 787-9 planes to begin before the end of 2025, with the first international passenger flights planned in 2026. Overall, United flies to 147 total international destinations, making all of United’s future 787 passengers accessible to experience United Polaris Studio suites and elevated interiors. Down the road, United also anticipates adding around 30 more of these planes to join its fleet by 2027.
