It’s a good day to be a Star Wars fan. That’s because it’s May the 4th, which is also known as Star Wars day.

In Disney World, this special day is marked in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios with special opportunities to meet characters, exclusive snacks, merchandise, and more. We’re in Hollywood Studios LIVE to celebrate May the 4th, so come with us to see what it’s all about.
When we arrived in Hollywood Studios, the crowds weren’t too bad, but we did notice that a lot of folks were making their way STRAIGHT to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. And can you blame them? Where else would you want to be on May the 4th?

The best part of May the 4th, though is seeing folks in their Star Wars outfits. We saw everyone from Jedi, pilots, and Princess Leia.

In fact, this is the PERFECT day to dress up as your favorite Star Wars character.
So much fun!
Although today brings a lot of Star Wars fans to the parks, wait times aren’t too bad. At the moment of this writing (around 3 PM), Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run were both at 40 minutes.

So let’s check out some fun souvenirs. We could NOT resist the Jawa Sipper — look at how cute this little guy is. You can pick him up for $20.79 at ABC Commissary, Backlot Express, Fairfax Fare, the popcorn cart near the main entrance, and PizzeRizzo.

You’ll spot some familiar characters today, too. Chewbacca has a meet and greet in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. If you want to meet him, though, prepare to stand in line.

We also saw some long lines at the Milk Stand. Blue milk for everyone!

Note that if you’re trying to get your hands on May the 4th merchandise today, Disney World has put a virtual queue in place JUST for the day. If you want to shop today’s exclusive merchandise, you’ll have to join a virtual queue to do so.
