A BRAND-NEW restaurant is coming to Walt Disney World, and it’s bringing a delectable treat that’s sure to become a favorite.
In the spring of 2025, Disney confirmed that Shula’s Steakhouse – – named for famous Miami Dolphins coach Don Shula – – at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort would be closing in June to make way for a new dining experience: Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina.
Celebrity chef Michael Mina launched Bourbon Steak as “a tribute to the classic American steakhouse.” The restaurant’s menu includes “prime cuts of beef, fresh seafood, and an extensive selection of wines and spirits, including rare and vintage bourbon selections,” made with locally sourced ingredients.
In addition to the upcoming Orlando outpost, there are currently Bourbon Steak locations in Del Ray Beach, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, New York, Orange County, Scottsdale, and Washington D.C. Recently, we paid a visit to the Orange County, California, location in order to get a feel for the newest restaurant coming to Disney World.
Located at the Waldorf Astoria in Dana Point, California, the restaurant had an upscale, oceanfront vibe. Once we sat down to eat, we tried one of the restaurant’s trademarks:
The French Fry Flight
You read that right, a flight of French Fries. Specifically, this complimentary dish is referred to as “the ultimate snack upgrade—three perfectly seasoned fries paired with three signature dipping sauces.”
The Duck Fat Fries Trio we had consisted of 3 different seasoned fries, fried in duck fat and served with a dipping sauce that complemented each type of fries. There were:
- Pastrami Fries with Ketchup
- Garlic Herb Fries with a Black Truffle Aioli
- Dill Fries with Onion Crema
These delectable fry offerings, as well as the rest of the Bourbon Steak menu seems poised to become a favorite when it opens at the Disney World Dolphin hotel later this year. Stay tuned to DFB for more updates on Disney World’s newest restaurant.
