Are you ready for the highly anticipated sequel for one of Disney’s most beloved animated movies?!

Since Zootopia’s release in 2016, fans have been waiting for a sequel! Nearly a decade later, it’s finally coming. Although there hasn’t been a ton of news, we finally got a first look at one of the new characters!
Zootopia came out in 2016, and fans instantly fell in love with Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde. The movie grossed over $1 billion worldwide, instantly making it a global success. It became the third highest-grossing film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios — only behind Frozen and Frozen 2. It also took home the Oscar for Best Animated Feature in 2017! So yeah — it was LOVED by everyone!

Disney has since taken Zootopia’s success and has expanded on the film. In November of 2022, Disney+ debuted a short-form series for the movie called Zootopia+. In December of 2023, we saw Zootopia enter the theme parks for the very first time! Shanghai Disney Resort opened up “Zootopia Land”, a highly immersive experience that makes you feel like you’re living in the sophisticated animal world from the movie. The land features a trackless dark ride called “Zootopia: Hot Pursuit” — a feat in Imagineering as it won the 2025 Thea Award for “Outstanding Achievement in a Theme Park Land”.

Zootopia will even be getting a presence in Animal Kingdom this year. “Zootopia: Better Zoogether” will be a new show debuting in the winter of 2025, replacing “It’s Tough To Be A Bug”.

But now for the main event, the continuation coming to the big screen! The adventure continues for Judy and Nick, as they take on new problems within the animal world. We do know that reptiles will be introduced into the world for the first time. Gary the Snake, played by Ke Huy Quan, will be joining the crew for the sequel.

Well, Disney Animation just announced a NEW character stating “NEW ANIMAL JUST DROPPED” and this fuzzy little friend is adorable. Everyone, meet the quokka therapist, Dr. Fuzzby! She will be played by Quinta Brunson, the newest addition to the Zootopia family.

Zootopia 2 will be coming to theatres on November 26th, and we’re so excited! It feels like we’ve been waiting for the story to continue for forever. We’re going to keep an eye out for news on the movie as we get closer to it’s release. Hopefully we finally get that trailer soon!
