Can you believe it? Universal’s Terra Luna Hotel is open now!

It’s one of the three hotels near Universal’s upcoming Epic Universe park. We got to visit Universal’s Stella Nova Hotel when it opened earlier this year, and we’re excited to find out everything this hotel has in store. Let’s specifically zero in on the dining scene and find out what the Moonrise Bar has to offer!

Moonrise Bar is a walk-up bar that you can find poolside at the Terra Luna Resort, where you’ll find all your poolside favorites. At the bar, they only serve drinks, but over at Moonrise Grill, they also offer food options such as burgers, nachos, and salads. Plus, you can get wine, beer, and cocktails from the full-service bar. Keep an eye out for our Moonrise Grill review!

Atmosphere

The Moonrise Bar is located poolside, so it has a very casual feel. However, you can still see the influences of Terra Luna’s otherworldly theme. Terra Luna is inspired by the unexplored vastness of the galaxies, and you can see it in the curved architecture and colorful tiling. 

There are stools located at the bar, plus additional seating options close by. You can even sit in these super fun looking chairs to enjoy your drink!

You can either walk up to the bar to order or grab a stool at the bar to be served. We opted to get our drink to go, but there were lots of people enjoying the stools at the bar.

As we mentioned before, the Moonrise Bar just offers drinks, but you can choose from a wide variety! You can select from numerous cocktails for $16 each.

Plus, the bar also offers beers on tap, canned beer, wines, and spirit-free beverages. 

Now, it’s time to grab a drink!

Drinks

We decided to grab the Stratospheric, which features SelvaRey White Rum shaken with banana liqueur, cream of coconut, and fresh orange and pineapple juice. This drink costs $16, and for just $1 extra, you can get it in a souvenir cup! Of course, we couldn’t say no to a $1 souvenir cup.

First, we must rave about how the souvenir cup only costs $1 extra. Usually, they are much more expensive, so we have to give Terra Luna credit. The drink looks tasty, and we love the pineapple and Terra Luna stick in the drink.

The presentation is excellent, and the drink also tastes great! It won’t be the sweetest pina colada you have ever tried, but we thought the balance of sweetness with the tartness of the pineapple was fantastic. 

The coconut cream gives the drink a wonderful creaminess, and the nutmeg on top adds a sort of spiciness to the drink. Not in a burn-your-mouth kind of way, but in a warming-spice kind of way. We could definitely see ourselves sitting by the pool and sipping on this drink.

Nosh or Not

We think Moonrise Bar and Grill will be a great option if…

• You are hanging out by the pool and craving something to drink. The bar is conveniently located by the pool, so you won’t even need to go indoors to grab a quick drink.
• You want to relax and sip on a drink outdoors. Even if you aren’t planning on sipping while using the pool, the Moonrise Bar offers lots of seating options so you can relax with your drink outside.

We’d recommend checking out another spot if…

• You want to enjoy air conditioning with your drink. While you can take your drink on the go, we recommend checking out Luna Bar if you want to enjoy your drink inside.
• You’re looking for something a bit more upscale.
