Connections Cafe and Eatery has joined the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival again this year as a bonus location, serving up several festival-themed items!
The 2025 EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival has officially begun and it has a LOT to offer. There are plenty of food booths with tasty items, unique topiaries to check out, merchandise to grab (of course), and even concerts to watch. But don’t let it overwhelm you, we’ve got you covered with everything you need to know. And now we’re heading Connections Cafe and Eatery to give you the FULL scoop! Is it worth a try? Let’s find out!
Menu
This year, Connections has two new menu items, a returning sandwich, and one returning drink! New this year is a Lemon-Lavender Baumkuchen with lavender anglaise and a Carrot Cake Liege Waffle with candied pecans and cream cheese icing. The returning item is the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich from 2024.
The returning drink is the Blood Orange-Hibiscus Margarita. Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself!
Eats
First up, we grabbed the new Lemon-Lavender Baumkuchen with lavender anglaise. You can grab this for $6.29.
This was surprisingly soft, and the lemon and lavender flavors are very light, making this dish overall very, very light and airy — like eating a cloud. It’s certainly floral thanks to the lavender, which totally feels like it fits in this festival. Do you absolutely need to go out of your way to get it? Maybe not, unless you really like your lemon or lavender flavor. The flavors are light, so it’s not absolutely packed with in-your-face tastes, but it was delicious.
The other sweet treat on the menu is this year’s Festival-theme Leige Waffle — the Carrot Cake Liege Waffle with candied pecans and cream cheese icing. This one is available for $5.79.
We really enjoyed this version of the Liege Waffle! But, you can kind of tell that they’re prepackaged and not made fresh to order. We wouldn’t go as far as to say it was stale, but you can definitely tell that it’s not fresh. But, the carrot cake flavor really comes through in this. The cream cheese pairs very, very well. There are a lot of pecans on there, so they’re easy to pick off if you’re not a fan of that or if you’re not a fan of that different texture.
Rounding out the food for this year is the returning Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich, a Southern fried chicken sandwich with hot honey and pickles on a brioche bun. You can grab it for $13.19.
When we had this sandwich in 2024, we found that it was NOT hot at all — not even “Disney” hot! So if you’re in the mood for a chicken sandwich this one is for you.
Drinks
The drink this year is the returning Blood Orange-Hibiscus Margarita made with Teremana Blanco Tequila with hibiscus syrup, blood orange syrup, and Simply Orange Juice. This one will cost you $15.50.
Last year we enjoyed this drink and found it to be a good choice for those who don’t want to be overwhelmed with the taste of the booze.
OVERALL
While we enjoyed both new eats at this booth, we can’t say we’d go out of our way to get them again. There are many more interesting desserts at this festival, but if you’re a carrot cake or lavender and lemon lover, you might consider stopping by. The Blood Orange Hibiscus Margarita is a great choice if you’re after something refreshing and not overly flavored.
