My Food Was Literally ON FIRE in Disney World – but That’s a GOOD Thing

Yes, you heard that right. Our server lit our meal on fire!

We love sipping wine, snacking on appetizers, and sitting by the campfire. We love it even more when that fire is on our dish in front of us!

Popping into Wine Bar George in Disney Springs is a fun time, and our recent visit was no exception when we ordered the Saganaki On Fire!

Saganki On Fire is a delicious block of Vlahotiri cheese served with crostini and delivered literally on fire! The cheese tasted similar to a manchego but was a little tougher and didn’t crumble as easily. It held up perfectly on our bread pieces!

The cheese is topped with Metaxa, a type of spirit, and flambéd at your table! It’s a fun dish with an excellent show element. We loved watching the dish be presented at our own table and others around the restaurant. The alcohol burns off once the flame goes out, so the whole family can enjoy the meal. The cheese wasn’t burned at all; it was just toasted perfectly!

The best part of this dish was how fresh it tasted. The limited ingredients allowed the cheese to shine—and that’s exactly how we like our cheese!

Saganki On Fire costs $17 and is only an appetizer, so don’t worry, you’ll still have room for a few more small plates, like the burrata, some of their famous cheese boards, or even one of their family-style plates that can serve the table. You can even have room for the key lime pie!
