So you’re headed to Disney World! First, congratulations — you’re in for a great time!
But we have to talk about something VERY important, and by very important, we mean FOOD. So if you’re going to Disney World, you may have already purchased the Disney Dining Plan with your vacation package. So you’ll definitely want to know how to stretch out that dining plan so you get your money’s worth, right? Well, that’s why we’re here. We’re going to tell you which snacks in each park are a great value on the Dining Plan so you get the most bang for your buck.
If you’re not familiar with the Disney Dining Plan, we explain it all here, but it’s basically a way to pre-pay for your food in Disney World. Depending on the option you choose, you’ll get a select number of meals at Disney World restaurants plus a select number of snack credits. So let’s talk about how best to use those snack credits in each park.
Magic Kingdom
We’re going to start with one of our favorite breakfasts (and snacks) in Magic Kingdom: the Warm Cinnamon Roll at Gaston’s Tavern. First, this thing is HUGE, so it’s shareable, meaning that you can share it with someone and only use one snack credit. However, it’s also a good value on the plan because it normally costs $6.99.
Also, don’t forget that those snack credits are good at Main Street Confectionery. One of the best value snacks you can get there on the Dining Plan is the Cookie Pie with M&Ms Peanut Butter Chocolate Candies. If you love chocolate and peanut butter, RUN and get this snack. Even better, this delicious cookie pie is $6.99, so you’re getting a good value if you use a Dining Plan snack credit for it.
Is there a snack that screams Disney any more than a DOLE Whip? You can grab a Pineapple DOLE or Coconut Cup at Aloha Isle with a Dining Plan snack credit. A DOLE Whip usually goes for $5.99, so you’re getting a good value by spending a snack credit on it.
You can also use snack credits for the $6.99 Pineapple Upside-Down Cake, which is pineapple cake with Pineapple DOLE Whip on top. Best of both worlds!
EPCOT
Why get a snack when you can get a small meal on a snack credit? Head on over to Refreshment Port near the Canada Pavilion and get Traditional Poutine with that snack credit. It’s a simple snack with French Fries, Beef Gravy, and Cheese Curds, but it’s delicious and hearty. It’s usually $7.50, so it’s a great Disney Dining Plan value snack!
Want a little something sweet, though? You can grab a regular Funnel Cake with Sugar from the Funnel Cake Stand in the American Adventure Pavilion. This snack costs a whopping $10, so you are scoring a fantastic value with that snack credit, right?
Okay, are you ready, because one of the BEST snacks on the Disney Dining Plan is the Werthers Caramel Popcorn from Karamell-Küche. Yes, THAT popcorn that we are ALWAYS talking about. It’s a good use of a snack credit, too, because it usually cost $7.99.
If you’re not in a popcorn mood, though, a LOT of snacks at Karamell-Küche are worthy of your snack credits, including the Werthers Original Caramel Apple, the cupcakes, and the cookie sandwiches! YUM.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
If you’ve followed us for a while, you’ll know that our favorite snack in Hollywood Studios is the Carrot Cake Cookie at Trolley Car Cafe. We’ve talked about it A LOT — and we’ve even made a copycat at home. Well, it’s a good use of a snack credit not just because it’s DELICIOUS, but also because it’s normally $5.70. Enjoy!
So we’ve already talked about funnel cakes over in EPCOT, but you can also use a snack credit for a Funnel Cake from Epic Eats. Now these funnel cakes are served with a topping AND ice cream, so EVEN BETTER, right? They run around $8.49, so you’re getting your money’s worth with a snack credit.
If you’re craving a drink from a galaxy far, far away, did you know that Blue Milk (and Green Milk) from The Milk Stand in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is a snack credit? Well, it is! So you can be just like Luke Skywalker and wipe that blue milk mustache from your face in Batuu, just like a real Star Wars galaxy resident.
Blue Milk is $9.29, so that’s STRETCHING that snack credit pretty far.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Okay, we’ve got a FAVE snack that’s ALSO a meal in Animal Kingdom to tell you about. It’s the French Fries with Pulled Pork and Cheese from Flame Tree Barbecue. Seriously, these are a filling meal, so you’re getting a MEAL with your snack credit. Regularly, these cost $8.49.
If you have a sweet tooth and want a snack that’s exclusive to Animal Kingdom, you can grab the Zebra Cupcake at Zuri’s Sweets Shop with a snack credit (along with a few other sweet treats). This is one the kids will probably LOVE. It’s regularly $6.49 and is a vanilla and chocolate striped cupcake topped with buttercream frosting with a white chocolate zebra piece.
So if you’re looking to make those snack credits really go far, here’s your chance. Stay tuned to DFB for more.
