Disney Reveals NEW DETAILS for the Upcoming Storyliving Residential Community — Cotino

We know we do! While we can’t live directly in the parks, we can live out our fairytale dreams in Storyliving by Disney Community! There are several of these Disney communities being built around the U.S. and we have been following the developments for several years now. Now we have another new look at one of the communities called Cotino!

Cotino is the first of the Storyliving by Disney Community located in Rancho Mirage, California. We have seen glimpses at the homes being built here in the community that takes inspiration from the Coachella Valley, a place that Walt and Lillian Disney loved.

The model homes are open for showing, the parks, pathways, and walkways are almost complete if you want to take a stroll, and now we have our first look at Cotino Bay!

Cotino Bay is a 24-acre swimmable lagoon and is described as the “crowning jewel” by the Storyliving website. The bay is expected to open to residents later in 2025. The parks and walkways as well as the Artisan Club is also expected to open in 2025. Below is an artist rendering that shows what the completed bay is supposed to look like.

Cotino Bay is expected to be surrounded by Cotino Bay Beach as well as other dining and shopping locations. These will serve as the town center of Cotino with an open-air market serving as the home for these locations which will feature artists who create and share their own work.

These stores and dining options are expected to open in 2026 and will be available to guests for a fee. The homes in this community will start at the small price of $2 million. Select homes will also be available for 55+ starting in the upper $1 million range.

There will be four design collections of homes: the Cotino Coachella Collection, Cotino Agrarian Collection, Cotino Oasis Collection, and Cotino Aspiron Collection. The community will also feature a voluntary membership club called The Artisan Club! Members will be able to dine at an exclusive restaurant, indulge in a variety of sports and activities, and use dedicated swim areas on Cotino Bay, which uses technology to feature “the clearest turquoise waters.” The clubhouse will also be designed to look like the Parr family’s house in Incredibles 2.
