Happy Super Bowl Sunday! Hey, here’s a question: who decided to schedule this on a work night?! We’d be happy with Super Bowl Saturday, but that’s just us… Anyway! Can we talk about what we’re seeing right now? There’s a LOT to dissect with some of these commercials, right? And, of course, the iconic Halftime Show has everyone buzzing. But this is the Disney Food Blog, so we’re mostly interested in the Disney parts of this event, and, believe it or not, there’s a pretty big connection between the NFL and Disney!

It’s been a busy night for Disney and Universal Orlando! Between the new trailers, the Disney+ promo, and the Epic Universe commercial, there’s a LOT to talk about. Let’s dive in!
Okay, let’s start with the new Disney+ ad. We first saw this commercial debut earlier this month, and we haven’t stopped thinking about it since. The ad begins with the voice of Olaf, a.k.a. Josh Gad, asking “What If?” questions about a diverse range of shows and movies, including Star Wars (“What if there was no galaxy far, far away?”), Inside Out, The Avengers, The Bear, The Lion King, The Simpsons, Frozen, and Only Murders in the Building. Is this just Disney bragging about all the franchises it owns? Hmm.

With a lineup including Elio, Lilo & Stitch, Snow White, and How To Train Your Dragon all coming soon to theaters, it seems like both Disney and Universal are really leaning into the live-action movie trend.

We also spotted a new Marvel trailer! Thunderbolts* is coming to theaters on May 2nd.
