Staying at a Disney World Deluxe Resort costs a LOT of money, so you want to be sure you’re getting what you pay for.
Personally, we don’t think it’s worth staying at a higher-end resort if you’re not spending at least one day in the hotel to really experience the amenities that you’ve paid so much for. Even if it’s just exploring the resort, we think it’s a great part of any Disney World hotel stay, but especially a deluxe hotel stay. However, we couldn’t help but notice that one deluxe hotel is about to severely go down in value due to a lack of amenities, but its price will stay the same.
Over at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, their massive pool area, which is a major perk of staying at the hotel, will be closed for nearly half of 2025. That’s right, Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool will be closed from January 2025 through June 2025.
While this refurbishment is going on, you’ll still be able to visit the Tidal, Admiral, and Dunes Cove leisure pools, but these are smaller and aren’t able to accommodate as many people. This closure isn’t as big of a deal when it’s chillier outside during the winter months, but once it starts to get warmer around March, a lot of families and travelers will likely be frustrated that they can’t use the amenity that’s a large reason they paid the price they did.
This closure also doesn’t just affect residents at the Beach Club Resort, but also at Disney’s Yacht Club since both resorts share the same pool. And, you guessed it, neither hotel is lowering the cost of their nightly stays to make up for the closure. Both hotels continue to sit at around a WHOPPING $700-$850 each night.
There are lots of other Deluxe Resorts to choose from for your upcoming vacation if staying at a hotel with all amenities in tact is extremely important to you, so be sure to do your research on the Disney World website and see what hotel will be best for you and your group based on location, room rate, amenities, and more.
