It’s time to celebrate Lunar New Year!
Disneyland Resort is running a huge celebration from now through February 16th, 2025 so you’ve got just one month to see it ALL. From live entertainment to special merchandise to the FOOD (which we’re most excited about, of course), there’s a lot in store this year. While the food booths are a highlight, plenty of other new snacks are hiding at restaurants around Disney California Adventure! That’s what we’re going to dive into now, so keep scrolling to see our full reviews!
Pym Test Kitchen
Starting off strong, just like the Avengers in Avengers Campus, we grabbed the Legend of the Ten Spices Flatbread for $14.99!
This isn’t any ordinary flatbread — it’s topped with kung pao beef, sesame spread, toasted bok choy, and napa cabbage served with onion-cilantro salad garnished with heirloom radish and chile threads. So, how do all of these flavors work together in flatbread form?
This dish was named accurately! It is spicy but super tasty! There are so many different spices and textures. The flatbread is not too hard but not too soft. There is a ton of meat and the veggies add a nice crunch. The hot sauce drizzle on top was a little much, and it was not really needed because the meat already had a great kick. This dish is shareable but can be made for a filling meal. As a word of warning, we recommend having a drink with you to help cool your tastebuds!

Paradise Garden Grill
Paradise Garden Grill is a major quick-service location in the park, and it’s no surprise that its Lunar New Year menu is HUGE.
We’ve tried some of these menu items before (yes, even the WHOLE FISH — read our review here) but this year, we stopped by to try some of the new snacks.
First up is the Beef and Broccoli ($15.49) which is made of marinated steak tips with fried rice, green onion, and toasted sesame seeds. You can also get a tasting-size portion with the Sip and Savor pass if you’ve purchased one. Oh, and this dish is plant-based!
Unfortunately, this plant-based protein isn’t fooling anyone. It tasted way too “earthy” and didn’t taste like beef at all. The good news is that the broccoli is cooked well with good seasoning, and the same with the rice. The flavor is really good overall, but the “beef” is off-putting.
Our trip here would not be complete without something sweet! (Thank you, we’re here all night with these rhymes). We couldn’t pass up the Strawberries and Cream Roulade covered in toasted almond slices for $6.79.
This is another item that offers tasting-size portions with the Sip and Savor pass. This was delicious. There are plenty of almonds and a good amount of strawberries. We really like the light and fluffy texture and found it to be sweet but not overly sweet. We would only say to avoid this dessert if you are not a fan of almonds.
Disney Food Blog REVIEW: Is $65 Really a Good Deal To Feed a Family of 4 in Disneyland?
Studio Catering Co.
This food truck may seem unsuspecting, but we’ve found several amazing snacks here in the past! Because of that, we knew we had to try the new snack here — the Scallion Pancake Tostada!
It costs $8.49 (but is available on the Sip and Savor pass) and is made with a fried scallion pancake, bulgogi beef, kimchi aïoli, and spicy scallion salad. We were expecting this to be spicy, but it did not taste much heat. The beef is tender and spiced well. The tostada was crunchy and well-made. It is not really shareable, which is okay because you won’t want to share it because it is that good!
While we were here, we just had to grab the Moo Shu Pork Burrito for $13.99. This item has been available since January 8th and will stick around through February 27th, just a bit after the celebration officially ends.
The burrito includes sautéed vegetables, egg fried rice, and crispy noodles with a side of plum sauce, and we thought that this was a good-sized burrito. The fried rice has a great texture, and the veggies give it a nice crunch. The plum sauce is what really makes this burrito; it is thick, sweet, and tangy. This is shareable if you want to enjoy other festival food. We wish we could bottle up the plum sauce to take home with us!

Select Outdoor Vending Carts
Did you know some of the best snacks might be hiding in plain sight? If you typically pass the snack carts around the park, take our advice and DON’T. That’s where you’ll find the iconic Mickey-shaped Hot Dog Bun for $8! This is a must-get for EVERY Lunar New Year festival and if it ever goes away, we won’t be able to get over it. It’s a brioche-style Mickey-shaped bun stuffed with hot dogs finished with sesame seeds and scallions. Plus, it’s available on the Sip and Savor pass!
Not only is this thing just adorable, but it is an excellent choice for picky eaters or kids. Think of a hot dog in a pretzel. We recommend adding ketchup or mustard.
Something new at the snack carts this year is the Sweet Taro Bread, which basically sounds like our definition of heaven. It’s bread with taro cream cheese icing and condensed milk…but is it as incredible as it sounds?
The bread is like a sweet Hawaiian roll, but the condensed milk gives it an even sweeter flavor. The taro has a bitterness to it that we kind of liked, and gave the bread a nutty flavor that went well with the milk. As a tip, taro is messy, so we recommend eating this with a fork. While we did like this, we did not love it and felt that the price point was a little steep at $9.25.
Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff and Trolley Treats
If you are looking for sweets, look no further than Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff as well as Trolley Treats, where you can find two Lunar New Year treats!
You can grab the Mickey Lantern Caramel Apple for $10.99.
You can also snag the Firecracker Marshmallow Wand for $7.99.
