One of Disney’s newest hotel pools is closing for refurbishment. Disney has announced that the Pools at Pixar Place Hotel — located at the Disneyland Resort — will be closing for refurbishment in March of 2025.

According to Disney, “Beginning March 3, 2025, the Pixar Place Hotel pool deck will be closed for refurbishment. No end date for the refurbishment is specified in the announcement. (PLEASE BE AWARE: this post has been updated — the initial closing date was February 3rd, 2025. That was later updated to February 17th, and it has now been updated to March.)

The pool complex, which is located on a third-floor roof deck, features several entities including the Finding Nemo-themed Pixel Pool, which includes the 186-foot-long Crush’s Surfin’ Slide. In addition, there’s the Nemo’s Cove children’s play area and a whirlpool and lounge area for adults.

During the pool’s refurbishment period, guests staying at the hotel will be able to use the pools at the Disneyland Hotel. In addition, the Pixar Place Hotel pool deck will remain open for fireworks viewing on select nights.

The pool complex opened as part of the hotel’s transformation into Pixar Place. The resort, which opened in 1984 as the Emerald of Anaheim before changing its name to The Pan Pacific Hotel Anaheim, was purchased by Disney in the mid-90s. The company initially operated the hotel as Disneyland’s Pacific Hotel before its name and theme changed to Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel in conjunction with the opening of California Adventure in the early 2000s. The hotel retained that theme for approximately two decades, before being transformed into its current Pixar theme, which fully opened in January of 2024.
