So you’ve chosen to stay at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort for your next Disney World stay! Excellent choice!
This Deluxe Resort is gorgeous and has countless amenities that make it a top choice for those planning to splurge on a higher-end room for their vacations. If you’ve made your reservation (or are about to) and want to be sure you get the absolute most out of your stay, these are the four things you HAVE to be sure you do!
Dining Reservations
The Polynesian has multiple dining options that many guests around the entirety of Disney World vye for before their vacations begin, and for some of them, they travel from across the entire resort just to land at this hotel and experience them. So what does that mean for you? Take advantage of them!
From ‘Ohana to Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto, there are iconic dining locations here that you won’t want to miss out on. Be sure to grab your table service dining reservations right at 7 AM 60 days out from your trip beginning to ensure you can secure your spot, and if you’re looking to have a drink at Trader Sam’s, we’ve got great news — head down to the lobby to put your name on the list (a much easier trip in comparison to those not staying at the hotel), then head back up to your room/the pool/wherever you’d like to chill before your reservation.
Use That Monorail!
You paid the big bucks to be able to stay on the Magic Kingdom Monorail Loop, so be sure you use that Monorail as much as you can!
Even if it’s to get to another Monorail Resort, transfer over to EPCOT from the TTC, or just take a few rides on it for fun, make sure you’re getting your fair share of usage. Now, if you don’t think you’ll be traveling to Magic Kingdom or EPCOT often, and instead you’ll be taking more trips over to Disney Springs, Animal Kingdom, or Hollywood Studios, staying on the Monorail loop may not be the best plan, and you could be paying slightly more than you would need to at another Deluxe Resort without the Monorail perk!
Don’t Ignore The Amenities
The Monorail is far from the only amenity you have to enjoy — the Polynesian is home to gorgeous pools and walking trails you won’t want to miss out on, and that’s just the beginning!
Deluxe hotels are known for having the most amenities out of all Disney World hotels, and that’s why you’re paying the big bucks! So explore those walking trails, get yourself a spot on the stunning beach with a Dole Whip from Pineapple Lanai to watch Magic Kingdom’s fireworks, and maybe even take the walking trail to Magic Kingdom one day (now that the new Island Tower is complete — explore that too!).
Plan One Resort Day
When you’re spending so much money on a hotel room, you want to be sure you really have the time to enjoy it! If you’re staying for longer than four days, we highly recommend you plan a resort day to spend at your hotel and really enjoy all those offerings. We’re not saying you have to eat at every restaurant and step foot in every single area of the hotel, but too often we all focus on getting into the parks to have fun that we forget how much we can enjoy just relaxing and enjoying the beautiful hotel you’ve chosen to rest your head at.
We’re always here to help you plan your upcoming Disney World trips and give you our best tips, so stay tuned to DFB for all the latest information!
