It is time to ring in the New Year!
It is hard to believe that 2024 has come and gone, and we are hours away from welcoming 2025! There is so much to look forward to in the New Year, and Disney knows how to celebrate! We are in the parks today checking out the crowd levels ahead of tonight’s big celebrations in EPCOT and Magic Kingdom.
If you are planning on visiting the parks tonight or are watching from home, both EPCOT and Magic Kingdom will be ringing in the New Year with DJs and fireworks; just like in previous years, we expect the parks to be crowded.
When we arrived at the parks this New Year’s Eve, it was a tale of two crowds. In fact, single tickets for the park were back on sale and the lines to get into EPCOT were actually relatively low, but once we got in the park crowds were high.
Even the dependable people-eater Spaceship Earth had a wait hovering in the 65-minute range!
As of writing, the highest wait time in EPCOT is Frozen Ever After at 140 minutes — but the ride did have some down time today which might be another reason for the really high wait.
The lowest wait time is Living with the Land at just 20 minutes. So while the crowds are a high, not all of the wait times are mega crazy!!
The crowds only got larger as we made our way into World Showcase. We started in Canada (it’s a unique day after all), and found both the pavilion representing our neighbor to the north as well as the United Kingdom to be jam-packed.
This mass of humanity continued growing through the France pavilion.
It certainly looks like many of these guests could use a glass of champagne, which Disney has available to ring in the new year.
The large crowd filled the walkway around the World Showcase lagoon….
… and spilled into Morocco, which had us feeling just a bit claustrophobic.
Crowds continued to gather towards the Japanese pavilion as well as The American Adventure, with some already likely staking out spots for the fireworks later tonight.
There is so much to look forward to in the New Year at Disney World, and we will be here making sure to keep you up to date on all the latest Disney news, so make sure to stick around!
