A Walt Disney animatronic is coming to the “Happiest Place on Earth.”

At this past summer’s D23 event. Disney announced that a NEW show – – featuring an animatronic Walt Disney – – was coming to Disneyland. And now, we know when it’s arriving!

“Walt Disney — A Magical Life” will star an animatronic Walt in a recreation of his studio office. It will initially have its own run, before moving into a rotation with Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. Given Walt’s longtime admiration of the 16th President, it’s appropriate that the animatronic versions of the two will share a venue.

Now, Disney has announced that the show will open on May 16th, 2025! You’ll be able to catch it inside the Main Street Opera House theater, where it will take you on a “cinematic presentation of Walt Disney’s journey, culminating in a visit with Walt in his office.” This will be the FIRST time we get an animatronic version of Walt Disney.

Speaking about the Animatronic at D23, Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro said of the animatronic “I speak for our entire team when I say there is so much pride and excitement for everyone involved in this endeavor. Creating our first Walt figure is a huge responsibility, and we’ve brought members of the Disney family along with us for every step of the journey.”
