Dining in Disney World isn’t cheap, and that’s why it’s important to budget for your meals before you head on your vacation.
However, there are cheaper meals than others — for example, you can choose to dine at a quick service location instead of booking a table service reservation, and you could choose to bring snacks with you/purchase them when you arrive (or get them delivered to your hotel room) to help cut down on costs. There’s one tip though that we’ve given a few times, and it really is a GAME CHANGER when eating in Disney World while trying to save some money but eat sufficient meals at the same time.
At the majority of quick service meals around Disney World, you’ll find items on the regular menu, but there’s an entire kids menu to look through as well. Often, you can find smaller portions of items on the main menu, in addition to some more “plain” options for picky eaters, such as chicken tenders, mac and cheese, and more.
What’s so special about a kids menu, you ask? Well, the kicker here is that even if the menu says it’s only for certain ages, anyone can order off the kids menu! While sometimes these meals are too small for adults, we’ve often found that there are a lot of meals that are a great value and are plenty for many adults! Especially if you’re more focused on snacking around the park.
For example, we recently headed to Landscape of Flavors at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and tried out their Chicken and Vegetables with Pasta kids meal for $7.59. This came with Chicken with Pasta and Marinara served with Green Beans and a choice of Small Lowfat Milk or Small DASANI® Bottled Water.
And you know what? It was under $8, which is almost unheard of anywhere, especially Disney World, and it was genuinely really filling! The protein from the chicken was a necessity for sure, but then the pasta was the mostly filling part. We also got a really generous helping of green beans as well, which was a great refreshing vegetable (surprisingly harder to find in Disney World than you may think).
And this is just one example of the many different types of kids meals you can find around Disney World property — both in the parks and at the hotels! Again, anyone can order off the kids menu at quick service locations, but this won’t be the case for table service restaurants.

No doubt, there are many different foods at many different prices for many different tastes, but what you can’t get at Disney is a simple $4 dollar burger. Does not exist…and sometimes that is what hits the spot.
