Severe weather can happen at anytime and it is always a good idea to be prepared in case something happens.
On July 28th, 2024, Dollywood experienced severe weather that impacted their operations. Luckily, no one was severely hurt and the park plans to reopen soon.
Dollywood was impacted by a strong thunderstorm that caused flash flooding in the afternoon on July 28th, 2024. The park experienced lots of flooding and many guests took to social media to show the flooding. Dollywood workers and Pigeon Forge Police and Fire Departments assisted guests during the storm and at this time only one minor injury was reported according to a social media post by Dollywood.
The theme park is committed to helping guests whose vehicles were affected and they are currently working on cleaning up the park as well. As of yesterday evening, Dollywood was hoping to reopen at noon on Monday, July 29th. Dollywood was responding to comments three hours ago saying that they were still on schedule to re-open at noon.
Well…I was at Dollywood today. And yes, it was like the Old Testament. This video was only the start. Props to the Dollywood FD for leading us to our cars like The Batman. pic.twitter.com/FkQscTF4XQ

Dollywood is located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and was recently named the number one Amusement/Water Park for 2024 by TripAdvisor, as well as the number eight theme park in the world. The theme park was developed by Dolly Parton in collaboration with the Herschend family and opened in 1961. It is incredibly scary to see the flooding that occurred at the theme park, however, we are happy that only one minor injury was reported.
It is always important to be aware of your surroundings and listen to workers instructions, especially when severe weather is involved. We are glad that only one minor injury was reported and that Dollywood is scheduled to reopen soon. Our thoughts are with everyone who was impacted by these floods both at Dollywood and the surrounding areas. Stay tuned to DFB for all your theme park news!
