The day has finally come for the public to enjoy one of Disney World’s opening day attractions once again!
Well, if we’re being technical, the original edition of this show is now in the past, but Country Bear Musical Jamboree is officially open! We got a sneak peek at the show before its official opening to check it out, but now that you’re getting ready to experience itself, we really have to break down some of these changes!
Country Bear Musical Jamboree is the new edition of Country Bear Jamboree. It opened on July 17th, 2024 with the bears performing an all-new act featuring popular Disney songs sung in rockabilly, bluegrass, Americana, and country-pop styles. And here’s where the first big change lies, and probably the one you’ll notice most — there are no more original songs by the bears.
Yes, we’re sorry to say that for fans of “Blood On The Saddle,” you won’t be hearing Big Al (or anyone) sing it in the show anymore. Well, Big Al does start to sing it as a joke, but then he goes into performing “Remember Me” from Coco. With the exception of the opening and closing songs, all the songs in the show now are Disney songs sung in these new styles, making the show reminiscent of Opry-style shows from Nashville, Tennessee.
This means that everyone in the audience will likely recognize more than one song and be able to jam in their seats! With the original version of the show, there were many songs that went right over kids’ heads, making it less entertaining for them. Now, with the new list of songs, the whole family is more likely to have a great time. The songs you’ll hear during the show are:
- “Country Bear Musical Jamboree” sung by the Five Bear Rugs
- Bunny, Bubbles, and Beulah with Trixie singing “Try Everything” from Zootopia
- Romeo McGrowl singing an Elvis-type rendition of “Kiss the Girl” from The Little Mermaid
- Ernest doing a solo fiddle of “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” from Mary Poppins
- “A Whole New World” from Aladdin by Teddy Barra and Wendell
- “A Bit of A Fixer Upper” from Frozen by Terrance
- Big Al (tries to) sing “Remember Me” from Coco but also teases like he’s going to start singing “Blood on the Saddle,” from the original show
- “You’ve Got a Friend In Me” from Toy Story sung by Rufus and Sammy
- “The Bear Necessities” from The Jungle Book is the closing song
- “Come Again (Come On In)” is still the exit song — like the original show — sung by Rufus, Sammy, Melvin, Buff, and Max
And speaking of characters, we’re happy to share that all your favorite bears are still in the show singing their hearts out! However, they do look a little different! Check out the list of changes below:
- Henry wears a cowboy hat and suit with a bolo tie
- The Five Bear Rugs (Zeb, Zeke, Fred, Ted, and Tennessee) now all wear matching blue bandanas and hats
- Bunny, Bubbles, and Beulah now wear pink frilly hats and western attire
- Trixie is dressed in a pink and silver flashy skirt and shirt
- Teddi Beara still flies high in the sky, but now she wears a pink hat with a blue feather boa and an elegant necklace
- Wendell now wears a cowboy hat and vest
- Ernest is dressed just like Bert from Mary Poppins!
- Terrence (formerly Shaker — yes, name change!) now wears a dirty-looking cowboy hat, a green vest, and a bolo tie
- Romeo McGrowl (formerly Liver Lips McGrowl) is now dressed in an Elvis-style outfit with fringe on the sleeves
- Gomer looks very similar, but his fur is just a little darker
- Big Al also looks the same, but a little fresher!
You’ll also find some easter eggs hidden in the show and around the theatre to pay homage to the original show, but we don’t want to spoil those for you! If you’re heading to see the show soon, we hope you love it and can’t wait to hear your thoughts! Be sure to stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney news.
