Who’s ready to travel for the summer?!
This time of year is generally pretty popular for people who want to get away and enjoy some much-needed rest. We see heavier crowds in the summer at the theme parks and airports, and even the highways get busier with people embarking on road trips. But if you want to save some dough on your summer vacay (or your next vacay after that!), we’ve got a deal for you!
Southwest Airlines is celebrating its birthday with a big deal on airfare! Through June 20th, 2024, customers can get flights as low as $53 one-way in honor of Southwest’s 53rd birthday. That’s a steal!
These flights are available only for travel in the continental U.S. between August 6th, 2024, and December 18th, 2024, and then for Hawaii, international, and San Juan, Puerto Rico travel between August 20th, 2024, and November 20th, 2024. Some restrictions, exclusions, and blackout dates apply, so make sure to look at the fine print before booking.
Seats, markets, and dates are limited for this offer, and it’s important to note that the discount applies before government taxes and fees. You’ll need to check their website to see if your specific route qualifies for the deal, but Southwest did share a few examples of this special offer.
Examples of one-way, low fares include:
- As low as $53 one-way nonstop between Atlanta and Tampa
- As low as $53 one-way nonstop between Austin and Dallas (Love Field)
- As low as $53 one-way nonstop between Chicago (Midway) and Minneapolis/St. Paul
- As low as $53 one-way nonstop between Las Vegas and San Diego
- As low as $53 one-way nonstop between Los Angeles (LAX) and Phoenix
We played around with the options on the Southwest website and were even able to find deals flying into MCO — so you could use this special offer to travel to Disney World!
We’ll make sure to keep you in the loop if they announce any more deals or special offers for travel this year! Southwest runs flight deals frequently throughout the year, so we recommend checking their website before you book to see which special offers are available at the time.
Stay tuned to DFB for more travel news this summer and through the rest of the year! We’re getting prepared for big travel crowds during 4th of July, so make sure to pack your patient pants if you’re traveling during that busy season.
