Just when we thought we’d rid ourselves of those pesky Disney World construction walls, we were wrong.

EPCOT just underwent a major transformation, ending with the grand opening of CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza. The project took years and left EPCOT looking more like WALLCOT. But, it looks like we, unfortunately, haven’t seen the last of the mess at EPCOT with the now-closed Test Track. And, even Magic Kingdom is joining the party because new construction walls are up!

Construction walls may be down around CommuniCore Hall and Plaza at EPCOT, but we spotted some that went up overnight at Magic Kingdom! It looks like Disney is doing construction out front of The Plaza Restaurant on Main Street, U.S.A. In typical Disney fashion, they matched the walls to the facade to keep up the theming.

When we headed over to grab some more photos and investigate, we asked a nearby Cast Member if they could tell us what was going on. Officially, they weren’t able to tell us much of anything but did say that it might be a little bit shadier in this area soon. We hope that Cast Member is right because Disney World can always use more shade in our opinion!

The good news is that the dining room is still operating, so this construction won’t impact any potential reservations you might have or plan to make — at least for now! We’re also not quite sure how long these walls will be up as the Cast Member we spoke with didn’t indicate an end date, but we’re hopeful they won’t be around for long since they’re pretty distracting!

This bright and airy dining parlor serves classic meals such as the Plaza Club sandwich, meatloaf, and more… with the “and more” including ice cream sundaes, so don’t miss your chance to indulge in a good old-fashioned Banana Split!
