I’m back again with another round of WHAT’S NEW UPDATES AT DISNEY WORLD, a rundown on all the epic news and updates that happened at Disney World this past week. This week, we got the 4-1-1 on a BRAND NEW shop at Disney Springs, the GRAND OPENING of CommuniCore Hall & CommuniCore Plaza over at EPCOT, and the CLOSURE of an opening day attraction at Magic Kingdom! Are y’all ready? Okay, let’s go!
A new store opened up at Disney Springs!
From new restaurants (like EET and Summer House on the Lake that opened last year) to new stores constantly swapping locations, it feels like no two visits to Disney Springs are the same these days. And if you’re looking for a new spot to shop during your next trip, we’ve got an important update!
Aloha Collection is a BRAND-NEW merchandise spot in Disney Springs, now available in The Landing!
Aloha Collection
This mini-store/merchandise stand is located directly in front of Paddlefish and primarily sells bags, but also offers other accessories and some apparel. The brand was launched in 2014 and specializes in bags that are perfect to take on vacation!
New shop!
The bags are water-resistant and sand-proof, so they’re easy to clean. The tote bags zip closed at the top to keep your items stored safely inside, and the fanny packs and wallets are great for those day trips when you want to pack light.

EPCOT’s NEW CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza has finally opened!
The EPCOT Transformation at Disney World officially reached completion at long last on June 10th, 2024, with the opening of CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza!
Spaceship Earth welcomes you to EPCOT… and to World Celebration!
The new area serves as a central location for EPCOT’s rotating festivals throughout the year, providing a communal space to celebrate — and to provide additional programs for the events. Communicore Plaza is an outdoor space where guests can enjoy the festival offerings.
CommuniCore Plaza
Communicore Hall is a flexible indoor space that will be used to host a myriad of different things — food stalls, exhibitions, mixology classes, and so much more!

Along with providing dedicated spaces for EPCOT’s seasonal Festivals, CommuniCore Hall is also the location of a new year-round Mickey & Friends Meet-and-Greet!

As part of the CommuniCore opening celebration, a BRAND NEW Encanto stage show has made its debut! ¡Celebración Encanto! is a sing-along that includes popular songs — and characters! — from the film.

We’re so happy that Epcot’s transformation is finally complete and we’re excited to see how both Communicore Hall and Plaza transform with each festival and season.

We just got news that a Magic Kingdom Attraction is CLOSING and a new DVC Lounge will replace it!
Magic Kingdom is going through a LOT of change: not only is there a big Magic Kingdom expansion in the works, but Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens on June 28th and Country Bear Jamboree reopens with a brand new show on July 17th. But that’s not all — another big change is coming to Magic Kingdom soon.
Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade
We’re just going to warn you now: you’ll want to be saying goodbye to the Shootin’ Arcade soon. Why? Because we have confirmed it will be closing sometime later this year. For good. As in permanently. 😭 Yep, Disney is closing the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade to make room for something new: a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) member lounge.
No more shootin’
Now, this is probably great news for DVC members who would love to have a nice place to relax and enjoy some complimentary drinks and snacks in the middle of the chaos that is Magic Kingdom. And that’s great! But many folks will be a little sad that an opening day attraction is being shuttered.
Still, change is very much a part of the original concept of Disney parks — so we’ll adapt! And we have to admit that a Frontierland-themed DVC lounge could be a lot of fun!
