Food connoisseurs, prepare for boarding!
A brand-new themed cruise is setting sail from Miami to Cozumel next May, and the whole trip sounds like a food-lovers delight.

The Chefs Making Waves cruise advertises itself as a “Food, Wine, & Spirits Festival at Sea.” The four-night cruise on the Norwegian Gem promises to include “live culinary and mixology demos, dance parties, theme nights, and more with world-renowned chefs,” with guests including Richard Blais, Caludette Zepeda, Jonathan Waxman, Tom Colicchio, Scott Conant, Robert Irvine, and– in a name VERY familiar to Disney Springs fans – – Maneet Chauhan. The cruise will feature numerous special events, including Restaurant Takeovers, which will see the celebrity chefs “take over” the restaurants aboard Norwegian Gem. Each restaurant “will be will be open nightly for dinner service, and each will have its own specially curated menu, with multiple course options.” There will also be Buffet Spotlights, where the guest chefs will be curating dishes all day at the ship’s Garden Cafe buffet. In addition to these onboard events, there is a litany of excursions during the ship’s stop in Cozumel, Mexico, including “fishing, snorkeling, and diving opportunities,” as well as trips to the area’s beaches and local markets.
In addition to all of that, the cruise is offering ALL guests on Chefs Making Waves “a complimentary Premium Plus Beverage Package to enhance your vacation experience.” For guests 21+, this includes “Unlimited top-shelf cocktails & spirits, all beer, champagne, and wine by the glass, unlimited soft drinks and juices, unlimited still & sparkling bottled water, all Starbucks coffee & specialty drinks, and energy drinks”
The Chefs Making Waves cruise is scheduled to set sail from Miami to Cozumel from May 5th to May 9th of 2025. There will two pre-sales on June 16th and June 19th, before a full public onsite on June 21st, with deposits as low as $100. Stay tuned to DFB for further updates on this fun themed cruise.
