Wilderness Explorers: listen up! We’ve got some EXCITING news. Our good friend Kevin here let us in on a little secret. During our recent visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, we stopped by to say hello to Kevin. But as she was leaving, we learned that her friend was in the area, too. 

Meet Kevin from ‘Up’

As you may have heard, Russell from Up started visiting Discovery Island recently to meet new friends! We stopped by to practice our wilderness calls (and had a BLAST). But there’s another character you can now meet in Animal Kingdom, and he LOVES to talk!

Dug is one of the sweetest dogs in Disney World (besides Pluto, of course). He loves squirrels, toys, shaking hands (or paws), and smelling birds in the trees. He’s a smart, loving, and loyal friend. What more can you want in a pet? Well, starting NOW, Dug will tell you all about his favorite things — his collar was upgraded, and he can TALK!

During our visit to Animal Kingdom on May 26th, this NEW character interaction was a little different than the traditional character meet-and-greets we’ve seen with Dug before. Dug was spotted roaming around Discovery Island, and his Character Attendants confirmed there is currently no set schedule for his appearances. 

Dug is adorable!

That means you won’t find him on the My Disney Experience app at this time, but keep your eyes out for changes! During our visit, Dug and Kevin took turns roaming Discovery Island. You can see Kevin’s set times on the My Disney Experience app. While Dug’s official times aren’t currently listed, you can use a little process of elimination to guesstimate when Dug will be out by looking to see when Kevin appears.
